*All rules are subject to change. Before competing in a WiFight Club tournament read the rules.

Tournament Registration <------------------ NEW!!!!!!!!

General Rules

• The Tournament wont happen in 1 day.
• Each round will be over the course of 1 week
  • Starting Monday; Ending Sunday (schedule your fight whenever is best for you and your opponent)
• WiFight Club members only. Read the main thread for details on becoming a club member.
• 3 stock and 8 minutes
• Regular Matches will be Best of 3 (While Semi Finals, Loser and Winner finals and Grand Finals will be Best of 5)
  • Starter Stages are:
    Final destination
    Smashville
    Battlefield
    Town and City
    Lylat system
    
    Counterpicks are:
    Duck hunt
    Castle siege
    Delfino Plaza
    Halberd
    Duck Hunt
    Dream Land 64

  • Additional Stages (Only Omega version and through gentleman rules)

  • Each round can be completed either immediately upon next match confirmation or until the end of the round's designated week.
• No custom moves or gear unless otherwise stated (Mii's are not allowed).

Additional Rules

• Scores of each match are not mandatory but certainly wouldn't hurt either.
• If no winner can be determined, for whatever reason, the match becomes a bye ticket for the rest of the tournament unless a sub is found before the semi-finals.

Considering the format, this would be up to each member to determine for themselves. I don't have a way to record these matches, and I won't be hosting them like a Twitch tournament. If someone else wants to host some of the fights and record them in HD, that's fine by me, but I simply won't be doing it myself. Also, if you want to share videos from these matches, make sure you post them in the video thread, not here.

Edit: That reminds me though, if we get a tournament underway and someone records the finals, I'd be willing to post those videos in the OT (assuming they're good matches). Just go ahead and add them to the video thread and either tag me or send me a PM with the video link.

Well, I think it goes without saying that this will not be perfectly lagless competition so I'd leave the discussion of how bad the lag is to the contestants. If it is too bad to complete a match I guess the winner will need to be decided by the two contestants. I mean, we have members from around the globe, and even within the same community, different internet speeds exist that could lead to annoying amounts of lag. If you want some real bragging rights, maybe showing off at live events would be better.

Yep. Basically, the "tournament" begins as soon as you guys start qualifying. I figure this will take away a lot of the issues involved in time zone differences. Each round is given a week to complete. You can use PMs or some other way of communicating (ie Skype, Twitter, Youtube) to figure out each match and once the qualifying round is complete with enough contestants to build even a small bracket we can move onto Round 1.

Just put on the names of people who registered up to certain date and post the brackets, we'll PM each other from there and posts the results. Hopefully tho, this can be both 3ds and Wii U friendly since I don't have a Wii U

If I was going to do something like that I'd probably just create two brackets. One for the wii u and one for the 3ds. How about this... I'll go ahead and create two brackets and then next week you guys can start round one. If it doesn't work out then we'll go back to the way I described above.
