I was playing some multiplayer classic mode with my sister. I was a mii. We were fighting the hands when they both died, and some random shadowy hand appeared. I killed it, and it transformed into a fighter. It was some shadowy version of my mii. I killed it, and it dropped an orb. I knocked the orb off the cliff, and it died. I beat it. I got nothing extra from the orb in the end. Help?

Looks like you just fought master core for the first time! He's an add on to the master hand fights that has more forms the higher the difficulty.

Yeah, depending on the difficulty you select at the beginning of Classic, Master and Crazy Hand will morph into Master Core, which is the black, shape-shifting swarm you just encountered. There's also an even bigger challenge if you raise the intensity to 8.0 or higher, but I won't spoil it for you. ;)

Setting the intensity to 5.5 or higher will cause Master Hand to transform into Master Core after you've damaged him or Crazy Hand enough. The higher the intensity, the more forms it'll use. And if you're playing Solo mode, an additional form will appear on intensity 8.0 and above.
