Vote for Melee as best game ever!!!

Hey, I won't post a link to Gamefaqs in case that is considered advertisement, but they are running a Best game ever poll, and in a shocking upset, Melee trumped FFVII. Melee is in the semi-finals against a game called Undertale. This Undertale game has a cult from Reddit and Tumblr that are invading the site to make Undertale win against games that should be going further in the tournament.

So far, Undertale has beat ME3, Fallout, Super Mario World, Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, and Super Mario 64. Melee has a chance to beat this cult and move on the finals against either Ocarina of Time (most likley), or Super Mario RPG for the best game ever!

Why, pray tell, do you like a single-player, linear adventure game more than a competitive fighting game with a good following, a dynamic and constantly changing meta, and possibly the best physics engine of any fighting game ever made?

Cause I don't really like how the characters control. That's everything in a fighting game.

Not Smash Samus, bur Samus in the Metroid games is pretty cool.

Wow, Undertale already has a greater than 1000 vote lead on Smash. So far, every game has been beating out Undertale, until the end when the redditors and tumblrites start their rally to give Undertale the win. Smash didn't even hold its lead for an hour. I guess it will be Undertale vs Ocarina of Time.

SMRPG has been doing surprisingly well in this poll. I wouldn't be surprised if it beat OoT.

Having a smaller pool of viable characters makes it much more interesting in my opinion because everybody who is at least decent in Melee has WAY more MU knowledge for any given viable character than they would if they were playing another Smash game. Also, I think that Brawl and Sm4sh's characters are way too light, and the lighter characters makes the game play much more slowly (in addition to the newer games removing essential features such as WD, DD, L-Cancelling, and a majority of the technical stuff that made Melee competitive).

EDIT: Never mind, I'll drop this line of conversation; this is supposed to be about the GameFAQs poll, not Brawl/Sm4sh vs Melee. Sorry for thread hijacking.

Well, this is the Melee board, so I have no issue with people describing why they like Melee. I, myself, prefer Sm4sh, but don't really care what Smash game people like a lot.

It looks like this topic isn't going to be noticed anyway, so Undertale will probably win anyway.

Undertale could be the end of the road for us lol. It's some of us smashers vs. Tumblr, +a ton of smash defectors. Undertale is scary popular in our scene.

Smashboards FB page finally notified the masses. We must keep going. I bet if another BGE was ran a year from now, Undertale wouldn't even have made it past the first round due to its large fanbase being, no offense, a fad. Just like FNAF.

Bad timing though; few are likely to see it so early in the morning besides early birds on the east coast and Europeans, and it'll probably be off their news feed by the time the rest of the states wake up. Holding out hope, but RIP.

I'd love too see SMRPG vs Undertale. But because nostalgia seems to be how this poll goes, OoT will win. Again. *sigh*

Yeah, it was only seeded ninth in its pool. I voted on it out of pity thinking it wouldn't go anywhere, good to see people remember it though. Maybe if it wins we can finally get Geno DLC in Smash 64. People say Melee has too many mario reps already, but I think Geno would fit perfectly in Brawl. Fingers crossed that Sakurai releases him for PM.

You guys should see the facebook civil war between Melee Hell and Undertale Hell. The latter is being a real ***** (would expect nothing less from a fanbase composed of tumblr tannys) to the former.
