Smash Rookie
Hello fellow smashers. My name is Fred and I've been doing over the road truck driving for about six weeks now. For the last few months I've also rediscovered a passionate love for SSBM. I'm still fresh when it comes to advanced gameplay (wavedashing, Lcancelling, etc) and I imagine most people here would dump all over me. However I would really enjoy the opportunity to meet up and play with people from all over the country.
I understand that there are regional Facebook groups, I've looked into them and fully plan on utilizing them to find people to play with. Likewise I want to find people through Smashboards and Reddit.
Basically every 7-9 days a truck driver must complete what is called a 34 hour reset. That means that I will be parked and not allowed to work for at least 34 hours. This usually leaves 1.5-2 full days of free time. While the exact location I'll be can't be determined until a day beforehand, I can at least plan what area I will be in when I must do the reset 2-3 days in advance.
I plan on making a post to Smashboards, Reddit, and applicable Facebook groups once I know what area I'll be in. If/when players tell me they're interested in playing, I will do my best to shut down as close as possible.
I travel all over the entire US except for inside NYC.
If anyone is interested in swapping contact/location information please just let me know.
If anyone has advice or suggestions, particularly people who have already traveled around the country to meet other smashers I would love to hear it. Thanks.
