laundry have you read nabes latest posts? or is the slot past the point of no return for you?
Now that I've read them, I can comment on it.
In that this is a new side of Nabe that I don't quite know what to make of it and unfortunately he's choosing
just now to play this game finally and I can't get an idea of his longterm goals, which is where you often pin Nabe as any alignment. As I mentioned, he's being incredibly political, moreso than I remember. Usually I see Nabe in a more consistent manner with his later posts, where he's less...civil? I guess? and moreso using common vernacular and actually interacting with him. But his initial entry just seems so political that it comes off as Nabe being careful. I don't like that, because I'm not sure why he's treading so lightly here in the beginning. This is the single most important time because it gives us a first impression of a slot and he's choosing to be so political, to the point of even altering his choice in words (look at the difference between his first few posts as compared to #1166 or #1156, which are far more typical of Nabe).
I don't quite understand why he's giving me the benefit of the doubt. I nearly quoted his posted read on me and asked him if he was scum because I know he never townreads me, he's admitted to that in the past, and he's made me aware of that. I can understand why he'd give me that initially but we're three days in and I've gotten a lot of **** for my actions. I feel like that should've affected his read but he has me exactly at where I think he had me at the start: benefit of the doubt town-lean, despite perfectly summing up why you dislike my slot.
His Soup read also feels outdated because he's looking too much at why Soup got **** in the first place but not Soup's actions recently. What does he gain from baiting Kantrip like that, only to come to the conclusion that Kantrip isn't his primary target and at least bought himself a day just by seeing how he cracked? He actually said his Soup read got worse as he read more of him.
It's enough to make me say I want to see more. I'm not quite convinced of anything yet, I'm not fond of his entrance, and I don't think his read of me adds up, but he's Nabe and I don't think I can wholly figure that slot out without seeing some of his motivations play out first. It's enough to make me decidedly want Shen's head on a stake rather than watching these two force an interaction some more.
