My very first meaningful program I made was a brstm manager.
However, I want MORE.

BrawlDJ

The BrawlDJ Project aims to complete "the rest" of the music hacking that is left in Brawl.
While other people can't really help, I will need people to test things.

Testers require:
-Riivolution or GeckoOS (Riivolution only when I get to adding song files)
-A way to quickly backup your save file (This testing is going to trash ur my music repeatedly probably)

The goals:
1) Write a program that can redistribute song slots from one stage to another
2) Write a program that can add/remove song slots altogether
3) Write a program that can manage what title goes to what ID
4) Write a ASM code that can figure out what to do when a song doesn't have a title(Done)
5) Write something to link old song ID's to new files on disc (Victory theme fix)

Current Releases:
Coming soon.

Files that need to be Modified:
/
info2/info*.pac - In-Game Song Titles
/menu2/mu_menumain.pac - My Music Song Titles
/system/common2.pac:MiscData[13] - SongID->TitleDB
/system/common2.pac:MiscData[14] - StageID->SongID

Current Thread Topic
What other goals should this project have? Is depending on Riivolution a bad thing?

I'd say depending on Riivolution entirely may be a bad thing since it definitely has its limitations, but I also guess that I haven't looked into the specifics that much. I don't take it that it can workin conjunction with geckoos/ocarina? Have the Riivolution team looked into adding Ocarina into Riivolution perhaps?

Thats already been done by me.

To be honest, to all the "I pirated Brawl, I like using a USBLoader, my Wii won't read it people", you have to understand, I have no way of interacting with the FPC code other than talking to PW

Well, there are some people such as myself that have legit discs that don't really work, but i do accept that the majority of the people are pirates. but saying that is pointless, what im really wondering is why it would matter if you used riivolution for testing or how it could be required.

all 4 files that you mentioned to be edited can already be loaded via FPC, so contacting PW shouldn't be necessary (unless a new code structure is required). The majority of the goals are (awesome and epic) programs and codes. the only thing that i see that could possibly get in the way would be the size of the info.pac (i haven't used riivolution, so i don't know about if it has file size errors or not).

And even after that, your Dantarion! you can conquer anything!

I happened to back up my ISO from my actual disc using the very USB Loader I got thank you very much. -_-

The problem is that I sold that disc later on since I had no use for it anymore. I find it ironic that hackers are purposely leaving out other hackers (Yes, a pirate is considering a kind of one too) from fully hacking games on a system they shouldn't be hacking in the first place.

The Riivolution Team are a bunch of hypocrites. >_>

I beta tested Riivolution back when it was first being built and had a different name. I have a modchip in my Wii and Riivolution was having issues with it altogether, and it was expected to at least work with them. As far as I know, it's not something they can control. They'd have to write an entirely new version to support these other things, but since they don't want to encourage piracy they have no plans to do it.

Okay, I make a breakthrough.

The reason why in the video, all the songs are sorta messed up, is because the game has multiple checks in places.

In common2, the slot count and default song per stage is defined.
In the save file, a list of all the songs back to back is there.(Hence why in the vid, the first 12 or so stages have songs from wrong stages)

Anyways, thats all i knew. However, the save file data contains a flag for each song saying which stage its supposed to be on. Without this flag, the bar for moving the probability doesn't appear.

The good thing is, thats just a easy ASM override that doesn't even require a ocarina code in riivolution, or a one line ocarina code that doesn't affect the game normally

Woah. This is something I'm interested in. However, I'm useless due to having no wii to test stuff on.

I don't mean to interrupt but -- stop talking about piracy already, this isn't the site to do so, and if you have a problem with it, contact the author (AerialX) himself. Any more talk of pirates/USB Loaders etc will be infracted.

I'm interested in this and would be willing to test, I have a spare SD card to try stuff out on and I have backups of every file I use on my computer
