Hey guys, there's discussion of Amiibo in a few different threads already, but I'm interested in getting that sexy statistics bar graph.

It seemed everyone was hatin' on the idea before E3, but now that it's been announced there's a lot more openness to the idea.

I'm personally planning on maybe one, only because I want to give everything the game has to offer a try.

I'll admit, I was interested in the idea. It didn't seem that bad. How could you go wrong with Nintendo figures?

Now, not so much. "Why?" Well...
First, the idea. Now, I don't know about you, but I really hate the idea of it being just AI with RPG elements. When I play Smash (or any game really), I prefer actually playing the game. Isn't that why I got it?

And no, I also don't get the "If you know someone that you can't beat, have them try to beat your Amiibo." statement. It's the same reason why I don't ask other people to help get through a tough part in a video game. Because I don't feel like I've won. That I conquered the issue. I don't feel happy, I just feel disappointed that I couldn't do it myself. While on a lesser scale, the same happens here. Sure, one could say "But you train it up, wouldn't you feel happy about that?". But even then wouldn't be just or even more rewarding if you won using your own skill?

Maybe it could be used as a training buddy when you don't have any other options. But really other than that, what else is there?

Second, the price. I mean really? Fifteen dollars? I said this somewhere else, and I'll say it here.With the money, you can just as easily get a couple games off the eShop, heck, maybe even a retail game for the same amount you'd use for a couple figures. So then why would I not go the option that's not only better for my buck but will most likely last longer and instead buy what is pretty much glorified AI? It just seems like a waste in the long run.

I'll get as many as my budget will allow. I was serious in the other thread when I'd just get the Ladies of Smash figurines first and get the rest one by one per month.

I will get at least one, probably of Greninja. My interest has waned since the announcement, though I am still interested in how this thing works. I have no intention of picking up the thing that connects amiibo to the 3DS though.

$15 isn't too much for a figurine, but it's too much for one that's only a couple inches high.

I'm gonna buy the ones I really want, and the rest I may or may not pick up over time. I'll focus on getting my mains first and then keep buying them until I lose interest. I probably will not be buying them all at once, as that would be too much money for too little gain. Buying them slowly over time gives me a chance to develop each one separately.

I'll buy Samus immediately, and probably pick up Link at that time too (since it's my girlfriend's favorite character and a character I use a lot anyways). If I like them, I'll buy Marth, Zelda, and Villager (not sure on the order) with my next few paychecks or if they come out around holidays, ask for them as gifts from some of my gaming friends. I doubt they'll be cheap enough or fun enough to pick up too many more from the first set, but there's a chance I'd get Peach, Pit, or Fox eventually. I'm not too excited about Wii Fit, and Pikachu, Yoshi, Mario, DK, and Kirby are a bit more common as figures.

Honestly, I'm not interested in the FP (Figure Player) thing at all. I just want to collect my favorites of those pretty little figures. I only need one if I want to transfer my custom movesets/content from one Wii U to another, right?

I will be getting a couple Amiibos initially, all of my mains and one newcomer I plan to learn. I can see myself picking up one for another character every now and then for tetiaries.

As for Miis, I dunno how they plan to make them. It would be pretty rad if you could custom order one for your Miis (most likely my account one.) They would need a return program in case you decide to update your Mii, whether they offer discounts or make it free of charge.

Donating plasma gives me 65 bucks a week for extra pocket cash, and if no games are releasing I can get a couple Amiibos a week then. Slowly but surely I'll have them all, have no intention of buying them all at once. Yes, that'd be a fat bill haha.

I intend to only buy my favorite characters even if I don't use them much, but I still feel it's a lot.

Out of the confirmed: Mario, Yoshi, Kirby, Pikachu, Luigi, Pit, Toon Link, Sonic, King Dedede, Lucario, Ike, Mega Man, Rosalina, Greninja, and Palutena.

The to be confirmed: Captain Falcoln, Ness, Mr. Game & Watch, and Meta Knight.

In the maybe pile: Zelda, Marth, and Charizard. Chrom & Shulk if the leak is real.

I had originally thought of getting characters that will work across multiple titles, but then that is pretty much Yoshi(with 4), Bowser, Luigi, Peach and Mario (3 titles) of those 10 announced and the 5 titles it will work for at launch, (which figures will work for Capitan Toad, really?) So I switched to just favourites.

I'm gonna buy a few at launch and slowly collect them from there, hopefuly I'll be able to eventually get them all but it'll take awhile. The price does seem a little steep, though.
Anyway, my most wanted would be Mega Man, Greninja, Bowser, Lucario, Charizard, Fox, Sonic, Pac-Man, Mario, Samus,
Second most wanted: Kirby, Villager, Yoshi, King Dedede, Toon Link, Pit, Pikachu, Zero Suit Samus, Sheik,

Not sure if Mii Fighters will be available or not but regardless they'd be the last on my list.

This way, I can learn from them, if the AI is advanced as they claim it is.

Aside from that, if my main changes, I'll be getting an Amiibo of each one... and a plush toy, because that's my tournament gimmick. (I take a plush toy of the character I play to tournaments. It's my thing.) Good god, this is going to get expensive.

You know that Miyamoto is gonna get is own Personal Mii Amiibos. I don't think is the Mii Amiibos will be coming... especially for smash bros or Mario Kart. Only time will tell.
