The ledge-attack IMO is even more of that awkward "normal person"/bookworm style handling of a sword where he just slides on the ground to poke the enemy with a sword desperately. But the attacks are effective so I don't care how they are like.

The attack itself does look unconventional, but I take it as something that would be used by someone who would prefer to attack from a long-distance, instead of going into close-range combat. It's a useful move though, no matter how you look at it.

But this fanart I found makes it look even more awkward than usual.

I haven't had much success with the dash attack. The cooldown is insane, and the startup isn't any good.

I think it's an effective attack if you can ensure that you'll be able to hit with it (using it after Arcfire works well, in my experience), but it's definitely not something you should be spamming. It leaves you far too vulnerable, and plenty of faster characters can capitalize on this and do a ton of damage to Robin while he/she's vulnerable. I think the move has its uses, but careful usage of it is necessary to avoid giving opponents a free chance to attack.

It's been said already, but Robin is not a sword specialist and is well-rounded and talented but not a master at anything. She's more adept at casting spells (think of cut scenes with Chrom and last scene on the final boss) than swinging a sword.

As for the strange ledge attack and the way she rolls, think about it like this... if you were reading a book on self-defense tactics and were told to be evasive, crawling on the ground and rolling around would be techniques that would be stressed. I feel that Robin is a character that is trying new strategies even during the battle. When Robin is introduced, she is trying to relearn her skills - or rather she's trying to relearn what she's supposed to do and trying things out.

I feel that this is a pretty great design for someone like Robin, and I'd actually be a little weirded out if she swung a sword as well as any of the other swordies in the game.

I think for a genius tactician, throwing out a move like Dash attack or Ledge Attack seems like it'll put you at a great disadvantage. Would have been interesting to see a Wind Ledge Attack or something a bit more than the Worm.

I always thought that the way Robin dashes with the sword tip hitting the opponent was a homage to the myrmidon/swordmaster classes dashing with their sword tips in some of their animations.
