Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS Character Rivalry Thread

I figured I'd make this thread because I thought it would be a fun idea to imagine what it would be like if each playable character in the game had another character as a rival, like in other fighting games such as Street Fighter.

Rules:

-The two characters can't be from the same franchise.

-All of the Mii Fighter types count as the same character.

-Like I said before, only two characters per rivalry.

-You can update rivalries as more DLC characters are announced if you would like.

Ah yes, feuds. They are one of the driving forces of my Smash universe. I personally would not make Pikachu rivals with either form of Samus - they have history together (if you know what I mean).

However, my favorite feuds are Link VS. practically every swordsman that is not in his own universe, the most prominent of these being Marth and Meta Knight. Link and Marth sponsor some competing products as one aspect of their feud, and Link and Meta Knight's feud comes from the fact that they have a sheer difference of stature. Link is not above using such terms as "shrimp" to refer to MK (much to his objection). Link is probably the most egotistical of the Smashers (except for Wario and the villains). All part of the soap opera-like existence that my version of the Smash universe entails.

I like the idea of MEWTWO vs. LUCAS, but PIKACHU vs. ZERO SUIT SAMUS seems a bit off after their friendship in Subspace Emissary.

MII FIGHTERS vs. MII FIGHTERS does make the rivalries a bit simpler, just making the avatar character face off against another avatar character.

I also really like the idea of PAC-MAN vs. MR. GAME AND WATCH.

I like the idea of vs. because of the fact that they are both blondes from space, but there's just something about vs. that I like just a bit more.

I find it hard to imagine a rivalry between Kirby and Jigglypuff because in the Brawl in the family webcomic they're supposed to be romantically involved.

Bowser VS. Charizard - the battle between the fire-breathers. Charizard's trainer, Ash Ketchum, has gotten involved, calling Bowser a "no-good, two-timing, princess-kidnapping, foul-mouthed, low-life, insignificant alcoholic". Boswer responded by pointing out that Ash has never won a real Pokemon League, always losing when it matters the most. Bowser says the Orange Islands don't count because they are not in the games. So, a real feud between Bowser and Ash is brewing too, despite Charizard and Pikachu's attempts to get Ash to stay out of it.

It would be a bit weird if rival battles were in Smash Bros, since a majority of the characters either can't talk or simply don't in Smash Bros. While I still like the idea of rival battles in Smash Bros, I think it would get a bit dull if every one involved two mute characters like Villager and Mr Game & Watch just meeting up randomly, not saying anything and then fighting. As for characters like Pac-Man, who clearly can speak in his own series but doesn't utter a word in Smash, and Mario, who can also talk in his own series but can only say very short phrases like 'Let's go!', wouldn't it be a bit surreal if they all just started talking in full sentences in rival battles?

I would love it if they made a rivalry system in smash. Me and my friend were discussing it the other day and came up with good ones and random ones. The only thing I have against a rivalry system is many other fighting games have done it such as PSABR. Anyway here are some of my picks:

Especially Greninja vs. Sheik. Battle of the ninjas.

Here's my Smash Rivalry:

vs. Of course, a clash between the biggest rivalry in gaming history has to live on in Smash.
vs. This rivalry was cemented the moment DK challenged Little Mac in the ring.
vs. Time to finish the fight that was interrupted by the Goddess of Light.
vs. These two were forced into an alliance in SSE. But they are still opposites dating back to 64.
vs. Two foes known for their voracious appetites and their cutesy appeal.
vs. These two had met before in F-Zero GX. Now, it's time to settle it in Smash!
vs. A rivalry between two of gaming's most famous sidekicks (other than Tails who is absent).
vs. The spiritual successor to Ness' battle with Giygas.
vs. More like a rivalry between Jigglypuff and the Luma; Rosalina will simply play along with former's jealousy.
vs. Baking cakes and getting kidnapped all the time had raised taxes, so now the villagers are revolting.
vs. A clash between two kings--who both share similar foes, yet do not see eye-to-eye.
vs. A clash between two rivaling kingdoms. Which of these royal lines shall remain standing?
vs. Ninja vs. Ninja. Could it be anything else?

i only chose one rival per character. that leaves bowser jr. out until more DLC comes out. hopefully it will be an even number of characters so every character can have a rival. here's hoping. also, i count the mii fighters as separate characters. i may have broken a couple of rules, but this is the best way for me to set up character rivals. if you have any questions about my choices of character rivals, let me know.
