Winners of Major events
Top players of certain major events will finish up on Sunday. Brawl and UMVC3 we can say for sure this will happen with.
Attendance
If you are going to be no more than 10 minutes late, please contact the TO who's tournament you are entering. Shoot them a text, or better yet call them because they will most likely be running round taking care of things. They will add you to the tournament you request to enter in. Make sure you have your money ready. If the first game of the tournament has started and you call, it's too late to enter. So if you think you are going to be late, call.
Tournament Priority
As you can see, this event is on a tight schedule. If you are cross-entered in a tournament (entered in multiple tournaments) and you have a more than one match to play at once, the tournament with the higher entry fee takes priority.
Brawl > 64/Melee/P:M > SSF4:AE/MK9/UmVC3/Skull Girls/Mario Kart Wii
For example, If you are waiting to play a tournament match for Melee but you get called for a tournament match in Brawl, you must leave the Melee station and come play your Brawl match.
However, if a tournament match is already going on in any game, you will not be required to leave until said match is complete. You must report to your next match immediately afterwards.
Tournament matches have priority over any money match.
Pools
Pools will be run to determine proper seeding for all events throughout the day. (time permitting)

Neutral:
Rival Arena

San Francisco
Hades
Metropolis
Counterpick:
Dojo
Small Practice Stage 2
Medium Practice Stage 2
We will be using what has become a tournament standard: stage striking and counterpicking
1: How striking works: Both players must first select their character, electing to *Double blind pick* if they want. Player 1 (for dispute purposes, P1 is the lower number of the bracket) will "strike" 1 neutral stage. Player 2 will then "strike" 2 neutral stages. Player 1 will "strike" 1 stage. The only remaining neutral stage will be played for game 1 of the set.
2: The winning player of round 1 or round 2 may "ban" one stage, removing it as an option either player may pick in the set.
3: The losing Player of round 1/ 2 may choose what stage to go to for round 2/ 3.
4: After a stage is chosen, the winning player can change their character, then the losing player can change their character.
-A Player/Team coming from the losers bracket in GFs must win 2 sets in order to win the tournament, this is because a Player/Team coming from the winner's bracket has not lost a set while the loser bracket Player/Team is down 1 set.
-All players must announce their character before striking game 1.
-Toro's air stall is banned.
Using this technique results in forfeiture of the match.
*Double Blind pick*: If elected. (Both players must tell a neutral third party their character selections)

Hotel Information

VERY AFFORDABLE CHECK IT OUT

For you out of State players.

http://www.americasbestvalueinn.com/bestv.cfm?idp=588

This hotel is offering us a discount on their all ready $65 a night low cost. I suspect something around $45 for a room for the night.

This will be very affordable and it wouldn't be hard to send vehicles to come pick you players up in the morning before we open.

I'm thinking of coming to this event. With other parts of nc crew.
You should totally come. The experience will be very satisfying. You'll get to meet people not only from our state, but some of our neighbors as well. TX usually brings a couple of people, Alabama, Mississppi, and Florida bring people, so we will have quite a number of people in our region bringing representatives. You won't want to miss out!

Just as a quick announcement, we moved the date for Smashcon up by one week. So it will be for June 22nd and 23rd, not the 29th and 30th. Hope to see you guys there!

So what's going on between 7pm and 11pm on Saturday? If you guys are looking to fill that timeslot, I'd offer to run a Project: M Singles / Doubles / Both booth during that time. Also, where is the ruleset for P:M? I didn't see it.

Thanks a bunch! Hopefully I can make it out there because I will be in New Orleans this summer. What time do I need to be there for Melee Singles and Doubles?

Melee Doubles is scheduled for 11am, so I would suggest coming in for close to 10am so you will have time to get settled in with any equipment you are bringing, register, and get some practice in.

As far as I know, no unless someone offers. We do have hotel information. It has been accidentally grouped with the Pokemon B/W ruleset.* So hit the spoilers tab under that and scroll down a bit and you'll see the information there.

*Directed towards Smashcon to be fixed, but also for players who wonder about hotel info.

any famous people coming?
None as of yet. I've reached out to everyone I know (a few of them well known), either they already have previous engagements or they haven't responded. I'm pretty confident that TX and AL will be showing up like they have in past conventions so I know we will have Sync and Tesh. From AL, it's a toss-up but I'd be interested to see if Reflex shows up. Now that I'm done with school for a while, I can focus on reaching out to more people and promoting the hell out of this tournament.

Yeah, sometimes we do have issues with people not bringing set-ups. Sorry about that. It's why we stress that people bring set-ups, especially for the tournament they are going to enter, worst case scenario, we don't use it because we already have the sufficient amount of set-ups.

the early bird passes are still on sale....how do i know when they've all sold? I intend to buy like 3 of them tonight

1 last thing, if my travel plans fall through, would i be able to give my pass to someone else?
