Gosh, I just saw what happened on the old thread. I'll keep SSBF in my thoughts and prayers. It's great that you're all doing this in honor of him, though, people are so nice on this thread.

Paper Mario Prediction: 40%
He has a decent shot, but there are two things that hold him back, one of course being another Mario rep, and two for being another Mario. Not a lot of people will be happy with another Mario. Other than that, I think it's either him, Toad, of Jr. for a spot as the next Mario character.

Paper Mario Want: 50%
To be honest, I never got into the PM series, so I'm pretty indifferent on his inclusion.

Lucina: 43%
She has a decent chance of getting in, I would say at this point it's her or Chrom, but people may not think the same way.

Paper Mario: 26%
Nintendo don't really know what to do with Paper Mario, just look at sticker star, and I don't think they really consider it a franchise worth really considering (sticker star), the only way I see him making the grade is if Sakurai himself really pushes for it, and I think he'll have higher priorities.

Want: 18%
I like the first two games a lot, but he's Mario, even if he has a hammer. If they did his specials based on origami or his flatness that'd be cool, but I don't think it'd work too well, plus he's a piece of paper so he'd have to be pretty light, while Paper mario's never been known for being fast... not a good combination.

The character is essentially the modern day Dr. Mario, in that he represents a new subset of Mario games and offers a twist on Mario's moveset, albeit a far more drastic one than Doc, since he'd more likely than not have an original moveset. I'd put him next in line behind Bowser Jr., possibly even ahead of him depending on how extensively Sakurai factors 'uniqueness' into his picks.

I enjoy his series and its content, but I imagine him playing similarly to Game & Watch, which does not appeal much to my heavyweight sensibilities.

Yes, it is allowed. People give 0%'s quite frequently on Gamefaqs; here it is much more of a rarity. Personally, I think a 0% should only be used for characters who you ABSOLUTELY do not want to see; you kind of really have to have something against the character.

Paper Mario fell a bit flat in the ratings yesterday; only 33.25% (28.33% Smashboards, 43.8% GameFaqs) thought he would make the cut. People were also hesitant to welcome his arrival; only 45.95% (44.25% Smashboards, 49.6% Gamefaqs) of you wanted him in the game.

Today arrives another character that may leave you polarized; she is Lucina from Fire Emblem, a franchise that many of you have become familiar with in recent years. Feel free to rate her chances and comment on how much you want her.

Likeliness: 15% I honestly only see 2 fire emblem awakening reps at the very most (with 1 being much more likely) and to me Chrom is more likely, and I don't see them going with the Chrom/Lucina pairing thing and I'd rather see Robin/MU/Paul (that's what I named mine XD) too, who is also at least in my eyes a bit more likely/deserving So yeah 15% if Sakurai really wants to push the Awakening characters onto the new smash XP
