Problems with Project M (v. 2.5) via USB Loader

Has anyone gotten the latest version of Project M to run with a USB loader? I have been forced to use a loader since the death of my disc drive and have yet to find any luck. It's half-working so to speak. Here's what I did:

- Installed Project M to the root of my SD card (The drive is named "G:/") with the installer from the website, Full Set (Homebrew Option)
- Tried switching hard drive format to FAT32, NTFS, and WBFS, all gave the same error. (Error explained below)
- Tried switching game IOS to 249, 250, & 251 (same error)
- Turned on Ocarina and set Hook type to VBI (Tried loading with USB Loader GX v. 3.0, Configurable USB Loader v70, NeoGamma R9 Beta 56, same results

The Error: The game starts up as normal Brawl, meaning that the wrist strap warning shows up at the beginning and the menus are not changed to Project M style. However, the character roster is in the style of Project M. (Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, Sheik, and Zero Suit Samus are present) The stages are left in Brawl's format except they are mixed up. When I try to start a battle, the game freezes right before the announcer yells "GO!" and a sharp "bzzzzz" sound drones on until the Wii is turned off manually.

I'm pretty sure my Wii system is version 4.2 right now. I think I read somewhere that I have to update the system for this to work. Is this true?

Also, does the format of my SD card matter? It's FAT32 right now.

There are a lot of stray files on my SD Card (no duplicates) but I would think that the USB Loaders would be able to find the files that they need so long as they are named correctly. Should I backup my SD card and clear it before reinstalling?

I'm at a loss. I would appreciate it if someone could link me to an earlier version of Project M that would work with this set up.

EDIT: I used Wii Backup Manager to change the format of my hard drive.

I've gotten it to work I had the same issue as you but what fixed it for me was reinstalling PM (which I'm assuming you've probably done) So the only thing I can suggest is it to update to 4.3?

Guess I'll try updating tomorrow. It's kinda late here. I'm using a 4GB SD Card with 2GB free space. Thanks a bunch for the advice.
