Smash Ace
It was a cold, winter night...and the new season is here B O Y Z. The panels finally come thru before love sets in the air tomorrow, to present another update to the rankings! Things on all fronts of the PR, (almost) top to bottom has shuffled around a bit!
Some major events have gone by, such as the likes of LANWAR X, Canadian Video Game Awards, ECHO 2016, and maaaaaaaany more! With that being said, we're more than due for a new update.
It's my pleasure to introduce the new Winter Ontario PR!
Honourable Mentions
Players who have demonstrated their skill within the scene, but either have been too inconsistent in attendance or lacking the wins/losses needed to place them on the list. These players are not numbered and are considered to be of near or equal skill.

Yoh (=)
The king of consistency has shown up to take his crown for 2 times in a row. Having only dropped a handful of sets, all within our previous (SPOILERS and current SPOILERS) top 5, and holding winning records against all of those players, it was a no brainer for him to take the top.
Blacktwins (^2)
At the start of the season, Blacktwins was performing as he was, in his forever 4th stature. Cloud dropped, and that's all she wrote. Blacktwins found the perfect character to compliment his Mario and take wins necessary to bring him up to 2nd.
V115 (v1)
Before S@Y, the panels were all in talk and we were sure V115 would be taking 2nd this season...until he lost to Sendo. Pile that with his loss to Mistake, and Blacktwins simply outclassed him in wins, despite Vishals winning record over Blacktwins.
Poke (v1)
Pokes win loss record vs the top 3 are even or worse, and his records vs everyone under him are positive. Also holding no bad wins, his consistency has kept him up high on the rankings.
Chrim Foish (=)
Chris has got simply better and better, and closed the gap between him and the top 4, all the while creating one for the people under him. Having taken sets off of everyone above him (with the exception of Poke), there was no doubt he'd still be in high regard.
Spacedong (^1)
Spacedong takes the middleman spot of this ranking. He's simply better than everyone under him, and worse than everyone above him. Holding set wins on Blacktwins, Venom, and players under him boast him to his placement, but his 0-4 record vs Chris keeps him outside of the top 5.
IceNinja (v1)
Holding lots of wins against many of talented players by the likes of Blacktwins, many of wins on Ray Kalm, the Rochester boyz (KID/PikaPika), IceNinja takes our 7th with consistent gameplay.
Kevin Wong (New!)
Holding a huge win on Holy, AND having a winning head to head record vs IceNinja, the debate between IceNinja and him was very heated, and is one of the many reasons this took so long to make. Unfortunately, yung wongington lacks the outstanding record of consistency that IceNinja provided, and was outvoted within the panel for the IceNinja vs Kevin Wong debate.
BreaD (New!)
Boasting FANTASTIC wins in SuperGirlKels and KingKong, and also holding only poor losses in Blank/Jerm, BreaD was surefire for the PR. The only problem is he lacked in region wins, and the attendance to accomplish just that.
DKBill (New!)
The fraud 5 is under new leadership in this gatekeeper (as it is every season). Holding the least amount of poor wins and the same amount of good wins as everyone else in consideration for 10th, Brooks tops off the list.
Honourable Mentions
Players who have demonstrated their skill within the scene, but either have been too inconsistent in attendance or lacking the wins/losses needed to place them on the list. These players are not numbered and are considered to be of near or equal skill.
C-Lu
Topping off the season with wins such as San and IceNinja, the Lucina king has found his way on to HM, bringing all the hype with him.
Blank
Packing wins on Spacedong, BreaD, and JBones, Blank has (finally) top tier'd his way onto the bottom tier of the ranking.
JBones
Gains is not okay with this. JBones holds wins over IceNinja, Kevin Wong, Ray Kalm, and many more.
Jpeds
Jpeds was sure to be ranked otherwise, but he's only attended 2 of the 18 tournaments we considered for the ranking. Maybe next time!
RayKalm
Our Ganon god dropped down to HM this season, holding perhaps the most inconsistent, radical record we've recorded, holding tons of sour losses and boasting a lot of good wins.
Some key notes
- Forever 4th Blacktwins broke his curse.
- Forever 8th Astro has also broke his curse, in an unfortunate way.
- Another player has been consumed by the cursed 10th spot in Gains. He is not okay
- Newcomer 9th lives on.
- Yoh has maintained 1st for 2 seasons in a row, how long will his reign be?
- BreaD, despite residing in Quebec, was made an exception due to his high attendance (and even ranking!) in Ottawa.
- 2 of the 3 previous Challender Approaching players are now currently ranked!

PREVIOUS RANKINGA history lesson for those who're interested. As every update comes by, the previous will be archived here.
Another 4 months has gone by, and since Julys update, things have really been heated! And when the heat comes through, the PR Panel (Consisting of: Blacktwins, Astro, Chrim Foish, Meekspeedy, Red X, V115, Yoh and Blank) gets ready to spit some fire. The talent pool, attendance, and hype in Ontario has only gone up since our last update. The skill gaps in, not only the rankings, but how our region stacks up against others, is closing quickly!
We've had majors such as Canada Cup, and loads of monthlies go by. Tons of data stacked up in order to create an accurate 3rd update to the ranking. It wasn't easy by any means. We've had to do a ton of voting, not only for the ranking, but for other... pressing topics.
I SAID HEY...What's going on?
I SAID HEY...What's going on?
One of the 1st topics we discussed was this: What makes a tournament deemable for the ranking? I was discussing this with Astro, and there were 2 main points we came up with: Talent pool, and monetary value. Both easy ways of ensuring no fraudulence goes on. But we weren't sure which to pick. With Ontarios finest at an event, the results would be accurate. But if nothing was on the line for them, surely someone might sandbag and create inconsistencies. So then we came up with this: Why not both? We decided that entailing the Ontario PR, events in all of Ontario can be deemed worthy of counting for PR if a certain threshold is met via talent pool and/or monetary value. That's right. ALL of Ontario, meaning Ottawa, Windsor, wherever, is eligible to be ranked here if their event meets such threshold. I'm sure you have questions, such as "But Meek, what's this threshold?". I'm not going to get into numbers and logistics, but let's put it this way. If your event has a sizable pot bonus, or enough currently ranked/high profile players, then it WILL count for the ranking. It should also be noted that the ranking is highly based off of your W/L record. If you have a big pot bonus, yet nobody shows up, while it will count for the ranking, odds are it won't impact it much. But let's be realistic, the ranked players are money hungry scum thriving competition at big events, so this likely won't happen unless Red Bull is involved.
This has always been a really hot topic for, not only the panel, but generally within all of Ontario; should weeklies count towards the ranking? On the previous ranking, we came to the consensus of "No, people sandbag at weeklies because they don't think they count for the ranking". But this topic always seems to find it's way back into flow. In all honesty, our current reasoning for why they didn't count sucked. There's no other way of putting it. So us on the high council of the power ranking panel argued for what seemed like days (mainly because it was days). Both sides of the argument had strong points, on one hand, we have an opportunity to collect more data to create further accuracy. On top of that, it would give incentive for people to not only attend weekly events, but give it their all. On the other hand, it was felt unfair to people who can't attend a weekly event due to weekly obligations such as work, school, etc. It could also be hard for people to get to said weeklies that meet the aforementioned threshold of player talent pool, as not everyone lives in Toronto or has the money to justify bus/gas cash on a weekly basis. It'd also be a pain to gather 20-30 tournaments of weeklies. We some lazy fukrs That's just mindbending to compile ontop of the already high amount of monthlies/majors. The reason this write-up is out 2 days after the PRs release is due to this debate. In the end, we came down to a vote. There was a 5-3 favor for weekly events to continue not counting towards the ranking.
How do you get on the power ranking? Simple. By attending tournaments and performing well! If you meet the minimum attendance requirement for that season, and perform well enough, you'll be considered for the ranking! If you're able to consistently give strong performances at events considered for the rankings, you'll surely make it on.
So without further ado, here is the Ontario Fall 2015 Smash 4 Power Rankings!
#1: Yoh ^ 1 - Yoh's business plan proves to be successful. He secures himself a free ride to #1 on the PR, since he does not have a losing record to anyone in Ontario. This includes a dominating 3-1 record over Poke, as well as even records with Blacktwins (3-3), Chrim Foish and V115 (both 2-2)
#2: V115 ^ 1 - This season, the Brawl overlord creeps up a spot to second place. Similarly to Yoh, this blaster master has no losing records to anyone from Ontario this season. However, his comparatively lower attendance means he has fewer wins which span a smaller portion of our region's talent, thus he is outcompeted for the title of Ontario's best brown man.
#3: Poke v 2 - Our former champion, most appreciatively known as the frame data forensic, Poke is one of the few Ontario players to have beaten Holy this season, and he also holds a strong 4-1 record against Chrim Foish. He has no losing records to anyone ranked below him save JPeds (0-1) and Red X (0-1), but his losing records to both Yoh (1-3) and V115 (2-3) mean he falls to #3.
#4: Blacktwins = - Turning down his Toronto Raptors draft for the smash scene, Dunkmaster Blacktwins goes even with some of Ontario's finest (2-2 with Poke, 3-3 with Yoh). Unlike Poke, he has losses to players ranked considerably lower than he is (Ray Kalm, Gains, Dunston), so he falls just short of the top 3.
#5: Chrim Foish ^ 1 - Put your hands together for Ontario's official hype man. He boasts an even record against Yoh (2-2) and Holy (1-1). He also has a winning or even record on everyone below him, excluding his records to Gains (1-2) and Red X (0-2).
#6: IceNinja New! - Resurrecting from the depths of HM to #6 on the PR, he's the type of dude to 2-0 you in a dress. IceNinja has impressive wins over Poke, Blacktwins, Red X and Holy, and has entirely respectable losses. However, he is the first player thus far that has beaten neither of the top 2 (Yoh and V115), and he generally lacks wins over a wide range of the talent pool in Ontario due to his minimal attendance. Thus, he is placed at #6.
#7: Spacedong New! - Sponsored by "Stay in school" Spacedong gets an A in Smash, by herping and derping a strong win over our current #1 (Yoh), as well as wins over Blacktwins and Chrim Foish. However, his losses to Helldew and JPeds leaves his report card blemished compared to IceNinja's, so he is placed at #7.
#8: Astro = - Word on the street is that he was on pace to drop off the PR, but the cartel wouldn't let that happen. Your girlfriend's favourite smasher has got 1-1 records against two of the top 5 (Poke, Chrim Foish), a 2-0 record against Venom, and no losses to anyone ranked below him. His shorter list of strong wins in comparison to Spacedong, his loss to Shane, and his 0-2 head-to-head record against Spacedong keep Astro ranked one spot below.
#9: JPeds New! - Ottawa's collossal contender earns himself a spot on the southern Ontario PR through his surprisingly strong performance this season, having beaten the likes of Poke, Blacktwins and Spacedong. However, like IceNinja, he lacks wins over a wider portion of the PR and also holds losses to Jerm and Tao Chan, which keep him one spot below Astro.
#10: Gains New! - Gains is doing just fine! He holds an impressive 2-1 wreckord over Chrim Foish, as well as wins over Blacktwins and Spacedong. However, getting hospitalized by Jerm and losses to unranked players keep him below JPeds at the #10 spot.
Honourable Mentions
DKBill - The Kongo King of Kingston. He has a 1-0 record with Venom and Gains this season, as well as wins on Quebec players: Guard and Doom. The gorilla tamer holds respectable losses, which secure him a spot as an HM.
Helldew - The Sentinel of the Scene. Helldew returns to the PR in the form of an HM due to his impressive win over Spacedong. He also holds wins over Jerm, BreaD and Blank. However, his lack of variety in wins over higher ranked players, as well as a loss to Yung Mickel keep the electric mouse man ranked as an HM.
Jerm - The Vagabond of southern Ontario, he has positive records against 2 PR players (Gains, JPeds) and 2 of the other HMs (Helldew, DKBill). Though his losses are also respectable for the most part, he has no wins against any of the PR's top 8, so he makes his return to the Honourable Monado.
Ray Kalm - As one Khan rises, another must fall. The Dongchoker himself has 2 PR wins in Blacktwins and JPeds, though his wins fall short of Gains'. Even the King of Evil must bear the consequences of losses to players ranked outside the top 10 (eg Blank, Jester), so he is relegated to the HM section for now.
Red X - Not to be undereXtimated, The Star Prince falls short of the top 10 solely because he fails to meet the minimum attendance requirement. Not only is he the only HM to have multiple wins within the top 5 (being 1-0 against Poke and 2-0 against Chrim Foish), he has managed this after attending only two tournaments!
Challenger Approaching!
Unlike the Power Rankings or the Honourable Mentions list, the Challenger Approaching list is not necessarily focused entirely on tournament results. Rather, this list is meant to give recognition to players and their efforts, whether in or out of the game.
This time around, we decided to all collectively vote 3 players, and whichever 3 players had the most votes would make the CA!
BreaD - Currently on the Ottawa PR, BreaD has made face at many events in Ontario. His ZSS is fearsome and improving rapidly, and his mindset matches. Always a pleasure to see at events, be sure to talk to and play him at events!
Kevin Wong - A newcomer to the smash scene, Kevin with his Rosalina has been improving INSANELY fast. Be sure to keep an eye out for this guy, as if this rate of improvement keeps, he'll surely be ranked.
Yung Mickel - Everyone knows him, everyone loves and hates him at the same time. Mickel has made quite a name for himself with his outgoing personality, and general kindness within the community. Not to mention his awful commentary BANG BANG. STOP PLUGGING YOUR TWITTER. But what a lot of people don't see in him is the taste of cinnamon toast crunch fearsome competitive mindset he hides behind his friendliness. His determination and drive for the game is there, and improvement has slowly, yet surely been seen. Unlike a lot of players, he isn't plateauing.

PREVIOUS RANKING
A history lesson for those who're interested. As every update comes by, the previous will be archived here.
Our last update was nearly 4 months ago, hard to believe it was that long ago. But at long last, a well deserved update to the ranking has arrived! Within the past few months, our scene has been growing in both size and skill. With the arrival of old and new players, the talent is rising and the hype is growing. Our stream numbers are holding strong, the hunger and drive to improve everlasting, and national attendance has been showing in full force. We've done a great job in not only showing what we're worth, but defending our region from les envahisseurs français et Americans.
Within this season, we've had tons of things going on. With the tons of large events, the panel had a tough time making a lot of decisions. Take my word for it, this was not by any means an easy update to make. There was a lot of information that needed to be compiled and considered, and a ton of big decisions. With that, we have made changes to the panelist due to needing more highly valued opinions.
Presenting your current panelists
- Blacktwins, community leader, tournament host, wii chuck god, nigerian, rachet *** **** talker, doesn't even have a twin tho, 37 secondaries
- Armen, comedian, lucario sage of the aura master lord, a true man of action
- Blitz, leader of ayo, salt monster, Ike lover, green b*stard from the parts unknown, green goblin
- Chrim Foish, monkey handler, connoisseur of all banana, pot bonus innovator and king, the personality and hype man of ontario
- Red X, "deal wii fit"
- Blank, voted to be best dressed within a smash community in high school
- V115, 115% > 69%, slayer of frenchies, anonymous curry king, 3rd god of the Vishnu, king of browntown
- Yoh, silent but deadly, plays to win, wins to play, business man
- Meekspeedy, sanik 08, alleged illuminati panel leader but not really, uses mexican as an offensive term
or were pushed off the ranking thanks to V115 and Yoh coming through. These players are not numbered and are considered to be of near or equal skill.
Challenger ApproachingDuring this split, with the addition of so many panels, in conjunction with how difficult it is to get everyones CA, and with how many panels want to pick the same players, it's my regret to inform you that it will not be part of this ranking. As for future rankings, we'll see.

Challenger Approaching We are happy to announce the Challenger Approaching list is making a return from the Brawl rankings! This is a section to the Power Rankings announcement that we hope you all enjoy, and one that we look forward to having on future updates as well!
Unlike the Power Rankings or the Honourable Mentions list, the Challenger Approaching list is not necessarily focused entirely on tournament results. Rather, this list is meant to give recognition to players and their efforts, whether in or out of the game.
Each member of The Council chose one player from Southern Ontario who stood out to them, in one form or another. The Councilmen then may provide a brief explanation if they choose, as to why they chose said player, what stood out about them, what they might expect to see in that player's future, etc. Any players that are already on the Power Rankings or the Honourable Mentions lists are ineligible for the Challenger Approaching list.
(V115 opted to not participate due to not being around at the larger events, thus not being able to properly gauge who to pick)
Meekspeedy's Challenger Approaching!
Chris Fisch's Challenger Approaching!
Iliad's Challenger Approaching!
Red X's Challenger Approaching!
Blacktwin's Challenger Approaching!

Now enough of the formalities, here is your Spring/Summer 2015 Southern Ontario Brawl Smash 4 Power Ranking!
1. Poke (^ 4) - Has wins over Ally, NAKAT, Mew2king, V115, Meekspeedy, Blacktwins... the list goes on and on. Although Poke has a loss to Phillycheese, a losing record vs Meekspeedy and a loss to Yoh, his large amount of wins put a huge shadow on not only his losses, but on the rest of the region. Congrats.
Signature move: Tor Nay Dough out of nowhere!
Signature move: Tor Nay Dough out of nowhere!
2. Yoh (New!) - Yoh has turned up big towards the latter half of the season. Only ever losing to Blacktwins in region, he's completely dominated everyone he's played. During all the hype at EXP, Yoh went to Quebec and took Holys money, winning 2 sets against him in grand finals. With wins over V115, Poke, Blacktwins, and many more, there's no doubt he's our #2.
Signature move: Needle camping
Signature move: Needle camping
3. V115 (New!) - Our legendary Brawl player has finally turned up the heat in smash 4. His losses to Blacktwins, Yoh and Poke prevent him from being higher, but his extensive win list consisting of Ally, Mew2king, Poke, Meekspeedy, Chris Fisch and many more keep him above the rest.
Signature move: Dancing around your shield
Signature move: Dancing around your shield
4. Blacktwins (=) - With wins on Holy, Poke, multiple set wins on Yoh, and V115, Blacktwins was really hard to rank. His wins are as great as everyone else above him, if not greater. But holding set losses to Culex, Astro and Chiko, prevented him from being ranked further.
Signature move: slam dunks
Signature move: slam dunks
5. Meekspeedy (v 4) - Poke and Meekspeedy seem to have traded spots this season. Holding multiple set wins over Poke and Red X, and also having wins over Blacktwins and Chris Fisch, it was an obvious choice to be high on the ranking. But his losses to SpaceDong and RayKalm push him under the top 4.
Signature move: Crossup to SideB
Signature move: Crossup to SideB
6. Chrim Foish (v 4) - One of the premier defenders against the dark arts of USA, Chris has set wins over Smasher1001, PikaPika, and KIDGoggles. Also holding set wins over PhillyCheese, Astro, and many many more notable players, Chris was the choice for 6th.
Signature move: Banana money combo
Signature move: Banana money combo
7. Red X (v 4) - This was an extremely hard choice to make between Chris and Red X. While Chris has an extensive list of good wins, Red X holds a big win against Blacktwins, but nothing else really of note. Their losses were slightly similar, but our premier Rosa player sets shop at 7th.
Signature move: Luma.
Signature move: Luma.
8. Astro (=) - With his extremely hype set wins over Holy and Blacktwins, there was no doubt Astro was going to be ranked. The only question was where? Due to his losses to some players above him, RayKalm, SpaceDong, multiple losses to IceNinja, and Hackoru, he's prevented from being placed higher than those aforementioned.
Signature move: Aura sphere swag
Signature move: Aura sphere swag
9. RayKalm (New!) - All hail lord RayKalm. The man who preys on your fear alone places 9th on the ranking, and with good reason. His reign of terror at EXP left him holding wins over Meekspeedy, Chris Fisch, Astro, DKbill and Blitz, he's a premier choice for the ranking. But his multiple set losses to PhillyCheese, and a set loss to Blank prevents him from being any higher.
Signature move: Apple Ganoncider
Signature move: Apple Ganoncider
10. PhillyCheese (v 4) / - One of the oldest players to date, Kingace PhillyCheese plays to win, and closes off the list at 10th. With an extremely hype win over Poke, and multiple wins over RayKalm, Phillys resume looks pretty nice...until you reach the losses. With losses to many of the names above him, JAKAT, JBones, and SpaceDong, he finds himself 10th this split.

Honourable Mentions
Players who have demonstrated their skill within the scene, but either have been too inconsistent in attendance or lacking the wins/losses needed to place them on the list IceNinja - Has a nice set of 2 wins on Astro, but nothing else of note. Also holds a loss to Frupcakes.
Spacedong - Holds great wins over Meekspeedy, Astro, and Iliad, but suffers losses to Azdiff, DKbill, Miketavish, and Hammond. And let's not forget RayKalm tearing him in 2 at the Arcadian. (even tho it doesn't count towards the ranking. RIP, WE WILL NEVER FORGET)
Iliad - His fantastic performance at GOML netted him a win vs Chris, but his losses to TOJoe, Blitz, and Spacedong prevent him from climbing on the ranks.
Culex - Another OG, but now a wifi warrior, Culex holds a big win over Blacktwins, a win on Spacedong and suffers no real "bad" losses. He's prevented from being on the ranking due to his lack of attendance.
DKbill - Our very own Blueberry Kong takes an HM spot with wins the likes of Technology, and Spacedong.

A history lesson for those who're interested. As every update comes by, the previous will be archived here.
Since the games release, Ontario has been booming in attendance for Smash 4. The competition has been heated enough to attract attention from out-of-region players by the likes of NAKAT, Mew2King, Will, Ally, and many more! A few months have passed, and many of tournaments have gone by, and it's time to say hello to a new ranking! I'm proud to introduce, alongside my fellow panels, the Southern Ontario Sm4sh Power Ranking!
As some of you may be wondering, what is a PR? How is it constructed? Basically, a PR is a ranking system based on tournament results, wins, losses, and attendance. The panels of the PR come together and debate on who should be placed where, with explanations why.
The power rankings panelists consist of:

SOUTHERN ONTARIO POWER RANKING
1.
SCS | Meekspeedy – Topping the list is Ontario’s premier Sonic main. Having positive set counts against everyone below, and almost always out-placing everyone on the list, he becomes the obvious choice for our numero uno. AKA Ben the Ten
2.
Chris Fisch – Coming in at second is the only relevant Diddy main in Ontario that actually played Diddy in Brawl! In early contention for the number one spot, he boasts a 2-1 record vs Holy, and has obliterated everyone on the list save for Meek who edges him out in set counts. AKA The Chrim Foisch.
3.
APW | Red X – Third belongs to the most aggressive Rosalina you ever did see. On top of a solid performance against those below him in the list, he slew the **** out of Ally. According to the scrolls of old, this act would guarantee you first on any PR in any Canadian region, however due to his set counts against Meek and lack of attendance, he falls short of the top 2. AKA The Quebec Slayer.
4.
EMG | [T.T.D] | Blacktwins – The loudest man in the venue rolls into a comfortable 4th on this list. He has a plethora of wins over those below him, save for Poke. However it is with a recent set win on Chris Fisch, and consistent performance, that he overtakes the tallest Luigi around. AKA A-A-Ron the 37 main player
5.
Poke – The tallest Luigi main in existance is the halfway marker on our list. With fantastic performances, including wins on Meekspeedy and Red X, he’s a no brainer in the rankings. However, given some ‘random’ losses to unranked players and somewhat shaky performances, he’s unable to land higher. AKA The Colossus
6.
Phillycheese – An OG amongst OGs is our clear choice for 6th. Through sheer tyranny of will, this man has clawed his way up the list and cemented his spot. Despite some bad losses early into his play, he has since avenged most and has consistently beaten or outplaced those below him on the list, and even has a set win on Chris Fisch and Blacktwins. AKA Phil the Thrill
7.
APW | HellDew – The best damn Pikachu in Ontario sits at 7th in this list. Having a solid record against those below him, and an impressive win against Blacktwins, his spot on this PR was guaranteed. However, losses to Poke, Fisch and Meekspeedy keep him below them. AKA Bram the Barber
8.
APW | Astro – 8th belongs to an up and comer from Brawl. He has cemented his place within the scene with his solid Sheik/Lucario play and now Diddy. With wins on IceNinja and Poke he’s more than proven himself. However, an inability to consistently beat the top seven prevents a higher placing. AKA Armen be Charmin’
9.
APW | IceNinja – A Palutena player?! That’s right you’re not seeing things. IceNinja has performed incredibly from his first tourney appearance and shows no signs of stopping. He has a tied set-count against Astro and solid wins, unfortunately some bad losses at previous tourneys prevent a higher placing. AKA Gan the Man
10.
EMG | Blitz – The man known to fight for his friends closes off the list at 10. With a fantastic performance at TCU and solid wins against players such as Poke, Astro, and Max Ketchum he earns his PR spot. Inconsistent attendance and some surprise losses limit the green beasts placing to the bottom of the 10. AKA EYYY YOOO BLEEEEH
Honourable Mentions
Players who have demonstrated their skill within the scene, but either have been too inconsistent in attendance or lacking the wins/losses needed to place them on the list. These players are not numbered and are considered to be of near or equal skill.SCS | Iliad – The man they called “The Marth”. Solid wins on IceNinja and Astro put him in contention, but losses to Blitz, and some unranked players keep him out of the running for the top 10.
Jerm – The legendary head of the ‘Monado Boys’. He’s made his mark against players such as Poke, but due to inconsistent attendance and some strange losses he remains at HM.
Ryoko – Yashua from Oshawa, is what we’d say if he was from Oshawa. A very technical player with wins on Guard and Hell-Dew amongst others, his lack of attendance and inconsistent play keeps him at HM.
EMG | Toronto Joe – A fox main from way back, his fox has had impressive showings with wins against Phillycheese, Astro and others. Some surprising losses however keep him at HM for the time being.
V115 – The Ally Slayer himself makes the HM given solid wins against Blacktwins, Blitz, Hell-Dew and IceNinja. However given severe lack of attendance, he was unable to make the top 10… Yet.
Challenger Approaching
Culex
"Culex has shown promising skill in his game play, and is often playing wifi against many people in the facebook group. Once he gains the ability to frequent tournaments, he'll no doubt be making waves and taking names! I'm excited to see how he'll perform in this upcoming season!"Gains
"I picked Gains as my challenger approaching because of his recent determination towards Smash 4 and his skill improvement over the past few months. Gains has been beasting his way in his own little Kitchener/Waterloo region getting second consistently only losing to Yung Trilly, and is steadily improving at every tournament. The main thing that stood him out from the rest of the new players was his amibiton to get better by asking questions, taking advice, and traveling to many events to get that important tourney experience. If Gains chooses to stick around, I would definitely be on the look out for him."MikeTavish
"My choice for challenger is Mike Tavish. From the first day I saw him play in tournament, I was impressed with his natural technical skill. Overtime he's proven to not just be a technical player, but a smart player. He has a certain je ne sais quoi about his playstyle that if given time to evolve, will prove to be an even bigger threat than he already is. Without a doubt, this Ness / Mario is a man to look out for. DO NOT SLEEP!"Red X's Challenger Approaching!
FinallyScotty
"For my challenger approaching I choose Finally Scotty. From the first time I played him it was obvious this man’s Sonic was a cut above the rest (except maybe Meek). He possesses solid fundamentals, technical skill and shows an understanding of the neutral game unlike most players of his age and experience level. He has a good attitude towards the game and with an impressive win on Blacktwins already under his belt, there’s no doubt the man will continue to improve… if he continues to actually come out and keep taking names!"Blacktwin's Challenger Approaching!
ADAPTChance
My Challengers Approaching Is My Boy Chance! Ever Since TCU, Hes Caught My Eye On How Fluid His Megaman Movement Is! Every Tournament We're Both At, I Always See Him Improving And Notice Him Using Interesting Techs Each Tournament, Trying To Further Himself In Becoming A Stronger Player! I Can See Him Soon Becoming A Top 15 Player Very Quickly If His Progress Accelerates At The Pace Hes Going & Will Cause Upsets! Not Just By "Chance", But Raw Skill# M E G A B O Y Z
