A Game of Clones, Part 2
Deep in the nighttime jungle, a large, golden-bellied Kremling sat in a chair. He read through notes and ate a few "borrowed" bananas. He gave a look out the shanty window every time he took a bite, before quickly stashing the bananas back into a drawer.
A Mii Fighter in K. Rool garb suddenly opened the door, looking panicked.
"Rool! It's a newcomer announcement from Sakurai himself!"
K. Rool's crazy eye perked up. He knew about the trademark letter sent to the jungle as of late, so he figured this could finally be his time. Rool laughed and stood, waddling over from his dim and creaky office to the door.
As he exited, he was greeted by Dixie Kong.
"Yeah, we had leaks and everything!" Dixie excitedly said. "Sakurai's announcing it right now, c'mon!"
Rool hobbled along with Dixie and the Mii fighter. The jungle was dim, and even the bright moon couldn't penetrate the thick brush and canopy overhead. It was like an organic cave. Up ahead, however, the Smashers had set up a television for moments of key information.
Rool saw a group of Smashers grouped together around the television screen. A few gave odd glimpses at Rool as he approached. He didn't miss his own confirmation, did he?!
Rool quickly stumbled over to the area where the Smashers and their friends were. They moved out of the way, allowing him to get a glimpse at the television screen.
"DECONFIRMED", it read. Rool glanced at it for a second, before turning around. Suddenly, if expectedly, Rool felt the trophy knife drive its way into him. Dixie held the knife.
"For the Kongs."
Rool struggled to let out any yells. Mario, Diddy, and DK all did the same, repeating "For the Kongs" as they stabbed him. Rool felt himself slowly fade, as his body started to become a poorly rendered trophy. A stand formed under his feet, making him unable to run.
The crowd moved out of the way again. This time, the Mii dressed as Rool from earlier walked along the swampy dirt to face K. Rool. His childish, evil grin scared and infuriated Rool. He wanted to grab the boy, but Rool's arms had already become trophy parts. All he could do was speak his final word, and watch.
"Miis..."
"For the Kongs!"
The Mii imposter sent one final trophy knife into Rool, completing the transformation. His fellow smashers had betrayed him, and his final sights were a grinning Dixie Kong handing bananas out to every Smasher who helped commit the trophycide. He didn't know whether to weep or to scream, but alas, he could do neither.
