(There had to be a reason they were included in that update, I see no other reason why they would include them, especially with how clean of remnants Smash 4 itself was, and how they knew we could crack the updates.)

K. Rool as a Mii Fighter costume is pretty insulting to anyone that advocated for his inclusion.

I honestly feel this nearly entirely rules him out (just like the Inklings). While it could theoretically boost Dixie's chances, Sakurai has shown nothing but disinterest in the DK franchise since the beginning so I'm not going to hold my breath. I didn't even expect K. Rool at all. Hell I wrote an article about how I didn't think he was as likely as people made him out to be, but I certainly didn't expect a deconfirmation like this.

I honestly don't know what to expect from DLC now, I'm just going to prepare myself for the impending disappointment of it most likely being another anime-themed sword user from a niche series.

Pretty sure the only character who would bring me out of this funk would be Banjo. And that ain't happening.

-Chibi Robo
-Dixie Kong
-A bunch of third parties
-Wolf
etc.

All of these characters have strong fanbases and no matter how you cut it the vast majority are going to be disappointed that their character didn't make it. Some of these characters were made into costumes as recognition of their popularity, but also saying "we can't make them playable at this point." For all we know, Rool was one in the top 5 voted that simply wasn't chosen. It could've been any popular character, and Rool happened to be one. It sucks, but the intent isn't to infuriate fanbases and insult people.

People need to chillax. People would be having the same freakouts over any of the big few, and it's inevitable most of the "Big" voted ones aren't getting in.

- They were working on DLC content before the game released.
- They picked up unfinished content to be DLC (though Lucas, IMO, was already this).

I guess both could be true. Both contradict Sakurai's statements though.

I'd say the latter is what's happening.
If DLC was being worked on before the game's release (despite what Sakurai has said) it seems weird the Dr. Mario stage would only be released now, especially since there's been content added that didn't have any data in the game at release.

King K. Rool Costume: I am one of those that believe that, if this changes his chances at all, it is only for the better. ^^ I fully expect Kinky Rool now.

Dr. Mario leak: just how I wanted the stage to be. If true, I will be allover that stage.

OK, for everyone asking:

The data that I found for the Dr. Mario stage is this:

Virus Character Name in the Character Database
Virus Portrait (along with the boss fighters such as Ridley and Metal Face) for the health percentage.

That's it. There's no other leftover data in the stage tables, or unused files. I have no idea if this is fake or not. The guy said it's going to be revealed tomorrow, so we might have to wait. Unless we can find out if it's legit or not. I wish I could get in contact with the leaker .
