Since Smash bros will be shown at Nintendo Direct, I thought id go on a head and make this a count down thread for Nintendo Direct.

E3 will Start from June 11th to the 13th in Los Angeles.

Nintendo will have two smaller events' in its traditional Tuesday morning timeslot.

Nintendo of America has revealed, via Twitter, that company president Satoru Iwata has confirmed that Nintendo will discuss multiple Wii U games “before the start of E3,” during a Nintendo Direct online presentation.

May 19th,2013
A new 3D Mario, a new Mario Kart and the next Smash Bros. were confirmed for E3 in January. While we don’t know what kind of details we can expect in Nintendo Direct, we do know that some Best Buy stores will allow you to try out Nintendo’s E3 games during the show.
Nintendo COO Reggie Fils-Aime and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto will speak at a Wii U Software Showcase before the opening of the E3 show floor.

Nintendo Direct Coming On June 11th.
5/23/2013 Nintendo Europe and Nintendo of America today announced a new global edition of Nintendo Direct. The broadcast will provide updates about future Wii U games and will be streamed from the Nintendo Direct website on 11th June at 3pm UK time and 7 a.m. PT.

Nintendo World Store Bringing E3 Exclusive Demos To Fans

The
Nintendo World Store has an impressive treat for Nintendo fans across North America. Those lucky enough to attend the store, situated in the heart of Manhattan at the Rockefeller Centre, New York, will be able to play exclusive E3 games for five consecutive days. The announcement comes straight from the store’s Twitter account, where Nintendo gamers can immerse themselves in an E3 experience starting from June 11. Here’s what Nintendo World Store said:
“Starting June 11th, the #E3 experience is coming to#Nintendo
World! For 5 days, fans will have early access to our newly announced games.”http://mynintendonews.com/2013/05/30/nintendo-world-store-bringing-e3-exclusive-demos-to-fans/

Smash Bros Creator Will Be Attending E3 Next Week

Super Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed via
Twitter that he will be attending E3 next week in Los Angeles. Sakurai says that he will miss the Smash Bros trailer which will be shown during the Nintendo Direct on the 11th, due to him being in the US.
I’ll probably be in the U.S.A. [when the trailer is shown]. Off to E3.

Why is this necessary? Last thing we really need is more hype for e3, which won't be as big as usual.....

I'm not sure what we're suppose to discuss about :p we all know that E3 from June 11 to 13. What's the purpose of making a reminder thread that holds no objective for discussion?

I'm still pretty sure they'll show the game before actual E3. Then maybe we are at day 25 or 26.
SSB4 news might get leaked like how information of Brawl got leaked a couple of days ago before the day it was show in E3.

That too, but I was referring to the fact that I think Nintendo is going to make a few pre-E3 directs since they don't have a conference this year. So to prepare the audience for what they're going to see at E3 they must show things before.

Sakurai said that they will present "more than just news" which indicates some suprising news will appear. Preparing the audience for what they're going to see at E3 might destroy the element of suprise and make things less hyped.

But the news are not only for them. People who attend E3 are... what? 10.000? Maybe less. Nintendo needs to show things to us too, which are watching it online.

Also, there's no way people will prefer to go to the Nintendo stand instead of watching the Sony/Microsoft conference if they don't know what Nintendo is going to show.

You're twisting words again.

The info blowout could be as big as 2008. Even if we don't get any new game news we have:

Bayonetta 2
Pikmin 3
X
Yarn Yoshi
Mario Kart
Smash Bros
3D Mario
Retro's game

And these are only Nintendo's Wii U titles and only the games we know about. Even if that's all we get, fleshed put portions of these games would be great.

Just because Nintendo isn't putting on a huge circus act doesn't mean the actual info dump can't be huge.

The sentence "More than just news regarding SSB4" is enough to attract all of the people attending the Sony/Microsoft conference :)

Sorry to burst your bubble, not really I really love bursting bubbles. Do you honestly think all that will be at E3? Ask yourself that. E3 will be smaller than usual, what you describe is a regular e3. Everything you stated will more than likely be on the directs rather than E3. I would think they would use E3 as damage control to help the failing Wii u by saying "we're sorry" about the lack of games and advertising the hell out of the controller rather than the system :U

You still seem to be confused. Nintendo still rented out the Nokia theater. Nintendo still rented out the biggest section of floor space at the convention center like they always do. On that floor space there will be games to be played, before and after the smaller conference. It's the presentation that will be split into pieces, not their presence on the show floor.

The only thing that will be smaller is the separated presentations. As in instead of one big hour long presentation we will probably get 2 shorter half hour to 45 min presentations. Not to mention the Nintendo directs that will be coming before and possibly after like we were promised.

We were introduced to so many new games some months ago why would we not get follow ups come E3? Plus we were specifically told we would see Smash and have playable Mario and Mario Kart. You have really let the hysteria and headlines govern your thought.

I will unhappily eat crow if the following doesn't come to light but all of you should expect these following things this E3:

1 - An E3 Nintendo direct before the actual E3 event. Like last years Miiverse presentation. About what I don't know. But we were told we will have some before E3 for E3.

2 - A smaller industry presentation for the gaming distributors, investors, etc.

3 - A smaller gamer specific presentation with new games and many of the ones we already know about. It will be smaller but without the stupid fluff, and sales charts, at least to my understanding. Note, this presentation will only be smaller than usual because they supposedly aren't going to mix both gaming and general industry messages into one.

4 - What ever we don't see in the presentation will be on the show floor with everything else playable or in some video form. Very much like Wonderful 101 last year. Not every game is revealed in the big presentations sadly but maybe this year will be different.

Nintendo is not setting up a little Van in the parking lot of the LA convention center. There presence there will be as big as usual. And I bet you every game I listed will show up either during the pre E3's or during the show. The only one that is questionable is Yarn Yoshi. Other than that count on every single one. Get hyped.

I agree that this thread is pretty much nothing but more hype to annoy us and make the wait harder...but in terms of content/games i do think this could be the best E3 for Nintendo thats is in the past 2-3 even 4 years!.

Theres still Retro Studio's game which im excited as hell about apparently Retro was meant to reveal there game last E3 but didnt/couldnt due to time or not enough production on it.

So most proberly they will show it off this E3 & more of it.

ontop of all the stuff we can expect! Big games we all love and a difference approach ! Could be the best in years but no dennying were all hyped/anxious.

Its good im staying away from these boards since May started finally got something to play...borrowed Ocarina of time playing it for the first time...just finished Shadow Temple.

Not sure if this has been posted here yet but..
Nintendo E3 Rumours Emerge

With E3 fast approaching it’s about time we had some juicy
rumours. These rumours stem from an IGN member by the name of 100 Year Old Gamer. The forum user claims to work at Nintendo, though these claims have yet to be verified. However, it should be noted that he or she has previously written things that have turned out to be true. Here’s some of the information 100 Year Old Gamer has provided. Take it with a grain of salt.
  • Nintendo will air three to five Nintendo Directs before and around E3, starting on May 30
  • 3D Mario will be “huge, bigger than any Mario game to date” and looks “unlike anything you’ve ever seen”
  • Retro’s new game will be first person, futuristic, and something everyone wants them to do
  • When asked if “a certain Super Saiyan” would join Smash Bros (since Namco is involved), he said it “hasn’t been decided yet, but there is a chance”.

I would be immensely disappointed if Sakurai even thought to have Goku in the next Smash Bros., even if he was ill of a deep fever and on drugs.

Dark Link & The Water Temple will carry me to my grave.
Dark link is nothing...I never had any issue with him.Attack randomly, you have a better chance if you strategically fight. (PLay like a noob, just with more of the advanced moves) If you DO have issues, use din's fire. and bring magic potions

You don't even have to do that if you want to be a noob. If you're playing the classic version(not sure about 3DS), you can just use the Megaton Hammer.

I'm pretty sure you guys are nuts mad because you strictly follow the Smash criteria, I'm extremely ok with just Goku being Smash Bros. just for being the most badass anime character and having a potential move set, it could REALLY HELP SMASH BROS. SALES and attract people who know the Super Saiyan, but no more off-topic characters than that. It's not really a crisis considering the fact there was a real-life character that was in a recent Sega racing game. Sakurai could say "Yes, BUT NO MORE NON-VIDEOGAME CHARACTERS AFTER THAT. Are we clear?"

Smash really doesn't need any help sales wise, plus it contradicts Sakurai's whole mentality about character inclusion. It doesn't matter if he said yes to one non-video game character or one hundred, because he doesn't think they have a place in Smash, so even one would ruin it for him. And it's not like we're following some random criteria, these are the "rules" set by Sakurai himself, you know, the guy who chooses the characters?

There are TONS of Nintendo characters waiting to be playable, and they are INFINITELY more deserving than Goku.

Even a Goomba deserves to be in more than Goku. Flame me all you want. :glare:

Goku is not like going to explode the whole roster? Also, his character, his abilities, his personality fits Smash Bros., better than an actual Goomba with no personality.

He can always change his criteria, has it changed during Smash 4 development?
No he hasn't. And he's well known for not changing his opinions.

He admits that adding a 3rd party character is difficult enough. You can guess his opinion on a 4th party.

Considering we don't know the roster, that would be pretty hard to say. :smirk:

But no, so far there's no reason to think his criteria is any different. Why would it be? There are still several good potential additions that fit into it that have yet to become playable.
