Before you watch these i just want to say that these were recorded about a month ago

Im pretty sure in these videos i use smash attacks too much, and i have improved on that.

Any other input would be greatly appreciated.

Just added the link the vids. I kinda get owned, but still give me some feed back.
Thanks :)

lol your diddy friend needs work. lol at hitting with FOUR Usmashes in one stock. That should never ever ever happen.

Work on spacing and your moveset. You show a general lack of knowledge of your hitbox ranges as well as your opponents'. It's especially evident with your aerials which really aren't landing very well. Despite what many say, Lucas really can excel in the air if you understand your moves. You have a good foundation you just need to practice more.

I know you said it already but use less u smash. Keep it fresh so it will kill at lower percentages and use it as a surprise tactic.

Learn to RAR your spikes and ledgehop - a few times it would have been the best option.

Work on your d air game too, its one of Lucas' best moves and I believe Tyr has written a fairly comprehensive guide on its applications so give that a read.

You're not bad, I see potential :)

Keep up the good work (Ps: good colour choice - Claus ftw)

Too many smashes.
Learn the range of your moves. I saw many instances where you could've grabbed(It has surprising range, learn how far it goes), but Fsmashed. Usmash spam is just asking to be punished. Running Upsmash is a stupid approach. You have better options. Tether the ledge more. It has huge range. Like, double that of your tether grab.

Also, stop going to PKThunder every time you go off stage. Second video, at 1:57. Your second jump would've EASILY grabbed the ledge.

Now, all this considered, your Lucas certainly has something there. He has potential, so don't stop using him. And again, most or all of this stuff will simply happen naturally, just by playing Lucas more. You yourself are at a point in your "Brawl Growth" where simply learning your character more will make you better.

More specifics:

You know how to dodge and punish. However, Fsmash punishes are slow. It takes a full quarter of a second(15 frames) for Fsmash to come out. In comparison, your Ftilt is frame 6, and Jab is holy crap frame 2. To punish, use Ftilt. Grabbing works too. Against your opponent who likes to shield so much, grabbing will work wonders on them.

your PKT2 needs work, I noticed it going all over the place... you need that thing to go PRECISELY where you want it every time... one mistake is always fatal.

And yes, there are other recovery options.

I know that Lucas has a decently ranged grab and all, but frankly, it's way too slow. Even Sheild grabbing really isnt always an option anymore. It seems like the tether grab is just... bleh. I'm at wit's end with it.

Lol at Diddy. BTW, like others have said, use aerials more (dair ftw)

And btw, PKT2 becomes real easy later on. I use it more than I should for recovering, but then again, people always try to hit me then I pwn their face as I sail to the edge.
