Haven't been here in a while. Here's a deep thought. I was thinking maybe since Rosalina got in Smash, they'd add her to Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games for once. I know it sounds too early to speculate that, but still, it would be nice.
Well , they already have added her to the golf crew , and she was supposed to hit the tennis court scene too , but it did not happen.
Honestly , if she gets added in the future installment of M&S , then i'd would be worth buying it for me ... but i can't picture Rosalina with a generic winter or sports outfit .... just the biker suit Lol!

As soon as we get a high-quality image of Rosalina smacking into the screen as part of a Screen KO, I'll probably be changing my avatar to that. Calling dibs. :p

The colors of the lumas are special or something??? or it's just purely cosmetic changes? Sorry if this was already asked and answered.
It is pretty certain that they are just cosmetic {According to Gameplay}, but Sakurai never confirmed that they weren't.

One thing I'm curious about is whether or not Polari will actually have his own unique model and voice clips in Smash. I was playing Super Mario Galaxy, and noticed that he has longer limbs than the other Lumas, and his voice is different.

EDIT:

That's what I'll likely be doing. I'd have to get very fortunate to have a picture or footage uploaded from direct capture with good lighting.
Or I could do it for you with my Elgato. :p

Or, you could use Wii U Image Share.

Wow. I did not know about that deal.

Thanks for that. I've been wondering if it would be wise to wait for a price drop on MK8, but this is essentially the same granted I've been waiting in the same way for Wind Waker HD.

Eh, I was part way through mine, so I might finish it anyway. Mine won't be much different.

Your guess is as good as mine

No matter what anyone says 6'1" is now Peach's canon height (Tall female characters gives me LIFE)
It was always expected that Rosalina was gonna tower over everyone and I'm so glad she looks like she could literally stomp on so many characters

Ins't 6'1 insanely tall for Peach? .... i think so , that would fit Rosalina More since she is canonically that tall or aproximately even if the games make everyone but Mario basically the same height. Princess Peach is tall but only Taller than characters like Mario ,Luigi or Daisy but not as tall as Waluigi or Rosalina.

I should probably point out that Donkey Kong is much taller than what that picture is showing; he's really about as tall as Bowser, if not a tad taller. He only looks shorter, because he stands on his hands and feet; this is true in Brawl and Mario Party 9.

Also, in case anyone didn't see it, here's the image that confirms Rosalina's height...

And here's one of my size comparison images, comparing Rosalina to the other Mario Universe contenders.

Mario can only be taller (by a bit) than Diddy Kong? Lol
and DK Is only a little bit taller than Bowser , on normal circunstances.

Rosalina seems to be a little bit taller than Waluigi even if he is not on the picture.

Tallest: DK
Shortest: Diddy Kong.

Seeing as you brought up Waluigi, here's another one of my size comparisons, comparing Rosalina to him, along with some generic enemies.

Cool. It seems that basically they are the same height if both remove the crown and the hat , but with them on , Rosalina is slightly taller . The generic enemies have accurate height and it makes sense that Hammer Bro is the tallest of them here.

I completely forgot Wii U Image Share was even a thing. I was just planning to use Miiverse or my old Hauppauge. In this case, "old" means purchased two or three years ago; I'm sure it's no match for your Elgato.

I tested both image sharing methods real quick. Here's a screen uploaded to minus.com by the browser of the Wii U:

I assume it's 1280x720 because that's the native resolution of Mario Kart 8. Capturing it myself would look pretty much identical.

Here's the same screen uploaded to Miiverse:

These are always 800x450 for lord knows why. Guess it's no contest, really. Would Wii U Image Share upload in 1920x1080 if that's the resolution of Smash Super Bros. for Wii U?

So I honestly didn't consider that :rosalina: could have made it into the game but I'm by no means at all disappointed at the addition. Not only is it a cute and fun looking character it also seems to have a charm that makes them feel like a "high skill curve high reward" type and I'm kind of hoping it turns out that way. These kind of characters always add a lot of entertainment and flavor for me in games and I can't wait to try my hand at them. ^-^

An interesting question there. While it's true that Mario Kart 8's native resolution is 1280x720, if Smash Wii U's native resolution truly is 1920x1080, the screenshots that you upload to tinypic.com or any image hosting site could end up being that large, depending on the size settings.

Anyway, I did try this stuff out yesterday myself, though I might not get too much use out of it for Mario Kart 8.

I think it would be neat if she hosted the entire thing like Toadsworth in 7 and Ballyhoo in 8
i hope she gets to be playable though , since for me , that would be basically the only reason to buy the game since Mario Party died to me after the fiasco Mario Party 9 was. And since MP10 looks like an enhanced version of MP9 then i think i'd skip it. It's sad for me since MP1 was my first Mario game to play and enjoy and it became my Fav. spin off series as a child.

I've been getting into Super Smash Flash 2 recently, and it's so disappointing that Rosalina and the Lumas are just a background NPC in it. :c

The game is really good and I at least get to play as Mega Man in a Smash Bros setting before Smash 4 (even though he plays very differently from SSB4 Mega Man), but I'm just dying to play as Rosalina in Smash. :(

Moveset analysis:
Greatest strengths: Recovery, long range combat, stage control

Greatest weaknesses: Close combat, mobility, difficult learning curve

Unfortunately, Rosalina was unavailable for selection in the 3DS demo at E3, so I didn’t get to extensively test her moves to record data. From what I got to play and see of her, she seemed like one of the most difficult characters to learn–definitely not someone you can pick up and play successfully without lots of time to figure out how she works. Luma acts like a deployable turret that mimics Rosalina’s moves, kind of like Nana from the Ice Climbers. However, he can also be destroyed by attacks, like Olimar’s Pikmin. There are a few different colored Lumas that she can spawn, but I’m not sure if they actually have individual attributes. She’s very tall and heavy, but also very floaty.

Known moves:

Forward smash
– Rosalina thrusts her arms in front of her with her palms extended and a burst of energy comes from them. Very similar to Zelda’s forward smash.

Down smash – Rosalina does a spinning sweep that hits in front of her, then behind her.

Neutral air – Rosalina does a flipping kick that has multiple hitboxes.

Back air – Rosalina kicks behind her, producing a burst of galactic energy.

Down air – Rosalina waves her wand and a white ring appears a good distance below her feet. I believe her up air is the same, except above her, but I’m not sure.

Neutral B – Luma Shot – Rosalina deploys Luma, who does a tackle attack as he comes out. The tackle seemed to have pretty high knockback. Once Luma is out, he will mimic Rosalina’s input commands.

Side B – Star Bits – Rosalina waves her wand and Luma fires a stream of star bits from wherever he’s currently deployed.

Up B – Launch Star – Rosalina hops into a Launch Star from the Super Mario Galaxy franchise and soars in an upward arc. This move travels quite a far distance, making it a solid recovery.

Down B – Gravitational Pull – I don’t know too much about how this move works, other than that it attracts projectiles and items around Rosalina’s body and protects her from them.

Yes, the white ring is her up air and up tilt. Her down tilt is a galactic kick while lying down face-up. Up smash is a headbutt which cuts with her crown.
This isn't my analysis. it's from the link i included with the quote:

Seems a bit conflicting with other information on her that I've seen, and from videos I've watched. While she's not Sonic, I wouldn't call her a character with weak mobility at all. Her ground speed is average at least, and her horizontal air speed is actually really good. Obviously her downward aerial speed seems to be on the slow side, but her aim-able Launch Star offsets that (and I don't know how fast falling effects her either), allowing for quick get aways (and combo follow-ups, if she can land on a platform ahead of her opponent). These points also attest to her having a solid close combat game (and there is the fact that the sheer range of her hitboxes are actually really good).

Her only true weaknesses are that she is a big target, and that she is easily juggle-able by the fastest of characters/the most combo-centric characters (Sonic, Greninja, Sheik), once she has been caught in a combo. However, Launch Star and Luma make those weaknesses less than they seem at first glance.

I really think that Rosalina and Wii Fit Trainer are just going to be extremely solid, with Wii Fit Trainer being easy to use, but less versatile. Rosalina is going to have an extremely high learning curve and I bet she will be jumping all over the tier lists, but she seems to have limitless potential and people will play her in many different ways.

I don't really consider "learning curve" a weakness either. That's going to be a non-factor to the people that learn how to use her.

If Rosalina gets her own game, the Galaxy Arena theme from Mario Kart Wii should be the miniboss theme. If there were Observatory-based bosses, instead of *does the Nintendo Direct gesture* directly firing, you could activate the forcefield at just the right timing to refelct projectiles back. Also, Chao Garden, with Lumas.

It should also be noted that not all speedy characters have good approach tactics. For one example, Sonic may be fast, but he doesn't exactly have any safe approaches, which could put him at a disadvantage against Rosalina's approach options.

It depends though. I feel like you can approach her easily if Luma isn't next to her. Rosalina may be somewhat good in close combat, but Luma really needs to be by her side to make her close range attacks go a little further and hit a little harder.

Also, when it comes to the White Mage texture/vertex hack you made, did you use a Rosalina model? By the way, White Mage's name is actually Shirma/Shiroma. Although never said in-game, you can see her file name in the Mario Sports Mix ISO. I've seen it myself.
Just a tidbit. :p
