Well now with the Alternative stage selection the ability to hold more stages is upon us which means more past stages will likely be on the way. The last vote list is outdated because of stage removal and stage addition. So I figured we could help the PMDT once again by letting them know which stages are most desired by the majority of Smashers. I have compiled the most comprehensive list I could of stages from Smash64, Melee, Brawl and Subspace Emissary for this poll in order to be as fair as possible. I even maxed out the possible choices for a poll. So vote for your favorite stages here that you would like to see make a future appearance in PM. You may vote for multiple stages.

Note: Some stages have the same name make sure you read which version it is behind the selection or reference the list with pictures/videos below if you are unsure what version you are voting for.

FYI the Link Battle Arena 3 url from ssbwiki is broken ); but they do have an image that shows all the maps you can link to (and point out which the third is).

Also you could point out which stages share similar shapes, like Link Battle Arena 4 and Yoshi's Team Arena (we could just pick one and retexture the other if the shape is popular). LOVE that you went as far as to pick out the more feasibly usable Adventure mode and SSE stages; I always missed playing on them, but didn't want to bother going through 1P stuff just to have them.

EDIT: The transformation preview urls for Brawl's PS2 are broken too.

Brinstar Depths and Mute City would be awesome.

The former stage should even get that competitive version of it on Brawl Vault, provided that it ever gets officially added to PM.

I would prefer Smash64's Final Destination for the alt instead of Tabuu's fight stage. But with its own stage walls and blastzones instead of sharing Melee FD's stats.

Link Battle Area 2 (Adventure Mode, Underground Maze) on the map doesn't show the lower middle platform for some reason so click the linked image for that one for sure.

I totally forgot the Link arenas all had unique platform layouts. Hard to pick just one, but what if they were all combined into one transforming stage? We really ought to have at least one transforming stage somewhere.

I always thought that would be a cool thing to do to the Link battle areas. Then we could have all 5 alternating plus it would be a nice smaller legal stage.

Mute City was always one of my favourite Melee stages, as were Kongo Jungle and Brinstar Depths. If they got added, I would be fine with stage selection.

I agree I really want Melee's Kongo Jungle. It was like in between casual and competitive. I like stages in that zone. The rock can stay I just hope they don't bring the barrel back with it. Brinstar depths was cool for messing around on too if they brought it back I would play on that stage here and there for sure.

I also think it would be good if they sacrifice some of the Smash64 graphical versions and only kept the Hi-Def models of 64 stages. That way they could bring back more stages from Melee like Kongo Jungle and Peach's Castle easy. Which ties with your idea, they could just update some of the melee stages graphics without having to worry about taking up two stage spots. I would prefer they wouldn't change them drastically if this were the case.

We have 9 Smash 64 stages which is great because that's almost all of them save for Mushroom Kingdom when talking about selectable multiplayer stages. From Melee we have 13 stages leaving 13 left of the multiplayer Melee stages. From brawl we have 24 stages which leaves only 7 left. I think for the Melee players we should get at least 6 more back. Giving us 19, that seems fair since PM is Brawl and Melees evil love child. There will still be more brawl stages in it that way and only 7 Brawl and Melee stages would be lacking.

Falcon Flyer stage actually sounds pretty awesome.

But honestly, I'd like to see what new stages they can come up with as well. I'd love to see an iconic Pokemon stage that's not just a stadium, or an underground Yoshi stage, or a DK stage that's not a jungle.

Even if they brought back like 6 more Melee stages and stopped bringing back anymore Brawl stages(Since we have the most of them in PM) they would still have a crap load of slots they could use for PM Stages. Over 10 or so for sure.

Project M almost feels like Smash Trilogy to me lmao. It just brings back most of the best from all three titles into one game plus more.

I'm amazed there hasn't been more votes for any of the Mushroom Kingdom stages (minus Brawl's Mushroomy Kingdom, of course). Those were always some of my favorites as they're incredibly nostalgic, particularly the one from N64. Aside from that, I'm pretty sure people's hearts are set on getting the best Melee stages.

Also, given that Mewtwo2000 is PMDT, we hardly ever hear from him anymore and all he shows off is stuff that would never be in PM, I can almost guarantee that his renditions of Poke Floats, Mute City, etc. are being worked on for the game.

It still breaks my heart that there isn't a full port of Mushroom Kingdom II, even on Brawl Vault yet... It always was my favorite Melee stage, it seems like a perfect fit for Project M, and and it's been MIA ever since Melee as well. Somebody bring it back!

Mushroom Kingdom II is definitely my most wanted Mario stage to return. It was the least obnoxious Mushroom Kingdom stage. Though I want them to bring back the majority of Melee stages.
