I suppose you are correct, I am not sure what good it is to delay the inevitable, it is not as though anyone competent expects his omission from the roster. It is only a matter of time at this rate. I guess the clock is ticking, it is reassuring to know that we will see his design in about two months time at the latest.
Yeah, I think that's what everyone's most excited about. With Ness, Jigglypuff, Wolf and Lucas, we all kind of expect them to be basically the same. But Wario and Ganondorf I think most people are expecting to be redesigned or improved visually. At least, I'm hoping so. I really want Ganondorf to use a sword along with dark powers.

How much of the roster is revealed so far? I haven't counted.
13 newcomers :4greninja::4littlemac::4lucina::4megaman::4mii::4palutena::4pacman::4robinm::rosalina::4villager::4wiifit:

25 veterans :4bowser::4falcon::4charizard::4dedede::4diddy::4dk::4fox::4kirby::4myfriends::4link::4lucario::4luigi::4mario::4marth::4olimar::4peach::4pikachu::4pit::4samus::4sheik::4sonic::4tlink::4yoshi::4zelda::4zss:

38, one less than Brawl's final roster.

As for the remaining veterans who are still in the running, there are 11:

:falco::ganondorf::popo::jigglypuff::lucas::metaknight::gw::ness2::rob::wario::wolf:

Four of these, :popo::lucas::metaknight::wario:, are most likely to be in the starting roster if they return while everyone else could be either be a starter or unlockable.

Wow I never realized we already had pretty much the exact amount of characters revealed as Brawl had in it's entirety...I'm curious how many characters there will be in total. I'd say at LEAST 54

Watch. When the game comes out and people collect all the trophies, they'll complain that KI:U has more trophies than Metroid, DK, and Fire Emblem combined. :awesome:

Y'know, due to all those items, and enemies in Smash Run...~

New item! Looks neat.

Considering I'll probably only see these items in Single Player and the occasional romp through For Fun mode, I can't say I really care about overrepresentation or whatever. "Repping" has never really mattered much to me regardless outside of individual characters that I have an expressed interest in. With stages, playability is more important to me, though I do appreciate iconic locations. Items though... can't say I really that I care much.

Anyway, shiny as it is, it's probably gonna be pretty annoying in practice. :laugh:

Guys, I just had this horrible thought.

What if the returning stages count as the prime stage for the console? Like, what if Jungle Japes is the prime 3DS DK stage, and what if Halberd is the prime Wii U Kirby stage?

You probably shouldn't forget Mewtwo there, as there's nothing that shows that it's disconfirmed right now.

When we're putting in that, why don't we also add Roy, Doctor Mario, Pichu, and Young Link? No evidence to suggest they won't be tagging along either.
Mewtwo was never a clone character to begin with though. But I guess Lucina's inclusion does complicate things with the clone department.

Yes, but keep in mind Mewtwo's moveset has been molded into Lucario and recently Greninja too. They play similarly and are basically redundant so with Lucario's surprise return and Greninja's surprise arrival (in my opinion) makes it waaaaay less likely for Mewtwo to return.

I... I can't even... have you ever played any of those..?

Mewtwo having a huge chance returning is pretty much fact, btw.

....Lucario and Mewtwo share two moves. And Greninja is nothing like Mewtwo.

wat.

Lucario is my main in Brawl and I used Mewtwo as a secondary in Melee. I know these characters. They play a little different but they follow basically the same formula and share a few moves while Greninja looks to me like a Lucario clone that's heavier and quicker. Mewtwo having a "huge chance of returning" is not a fact. Unless they represent Pokemon more than Mario in roster slots (which is "a huge chance of not happening") nothing stands between Jigglypuff and the last Pokemon slot. And Mewtwo would've already been revealed, Sakurai knows he's one of the most wanted and there's been perfect opportunities to do it.

Lucario and Mewtwo only share one move, and that's their standard-b, and even then they're not identical. Otherwise there's nothing that's identical between them, they share no other moves than that, and their properties are vastly different too, it's like saying Charizard is a clone of Bowser. And Greninja, jesus man, he doesn't share anything in common with those two, absolutely nothing. Greninja's playstyle is fast and deceptive, Lucario's is risk=reward, and Mewtwo's is floaty and long ranged.

I'm sorry, but saying Mewtwo's moveset has been split out between Lucario and Greninja is factually wrong, Lucario has one move that's similar to Mewtwo's and that's it.

The only things they share are a chargeable projectile and a counter, both of which are still functionally different from one another. Otherwise, they're completely different characters, just like how Lucario and Mewtwo are, coincidentally.

The only attributes Lucario and Mewtwo have in common are that they are floaty and tall. I guess Mewtwo and Zelda are the same.

Lucario shares Mewtwo's huge roll and fsmash as well as very similar physics (the main difference is that Lucario is heavy while Mewtwo is light). I always considered Lucario kinda a spiritual successor to Mewtwo in that Mewtwo was a really badly designed character so Lucario took a few of the good ideas and the general aesthetic but redid most of the moveset to be functional. I'm really not seeing the Greninja connection though; Greninja's counter is kinda like Lucario's, and I've heard people compare Greninja's nair to Mewtwo's but it really is very different to the point that I don't think the comparison makes sense. Otherwise his moveset is completely different, and his general physics are completely different from Mewtwo and Lucario.

38, one less than Brawl's final roster.

I just want to point out that Snake is still in the running for the most part, I do not find him completely and utterly likely; in fact, I do not speculate in favor of him. However, he was a Brawl veteran and he was not objectively confirmed to not appear as a character.

Oh, another KI item?

Not exactly angry, as they are all new and interesting, though some love to other series would be appreciated too.
This. It looks to be a really cool item to use. The DK and Metroid series definitely needs more love.

The Daybreak looks like a great item addition, the only element it seems to share is that you have to assemble it. I do not find that redundant in the slightest as every other item in the game shares an element... you pick them up and that is that. I suppose in the case of recovery and upgrade items they disappear once picked up. It honestly is not that repetitive, quite the opposite.

Regardless, it is beautiful and shiny. So therefore it is the best item in the game. It is probably going to be a more reliable dragoon as you do not need to ride it by pointing at the screen. I prefer it vastly.

Also... RAWKET!

When it comes to items like this thing, the Dragoon and especially the Smash Ball I hope there's a set amount of damage that has to be done before you lose them. Most BS thing is when you get ahold of a Smash Ball and one itty bitty weak little attack hits you and you lose a Smash Ball, then when you try and get it back you land a smash or something powerful and they still have it :glare:

This is especially notorious whenever you are fighting computer players.

I agree, they should make that part more fair really....

I'm actually kinda glad Ganondorf wasn't revealed today. Knowing Sakurai, there's no way Smash Ganon could hold a candle to the wondrous sexiness that is Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf.

Smash Ganon might not be able to hold a candle to Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf, but he can sure as hell hold a Daybreak. Pwned.

TIL one move equals similar play styles.

I guess because Peach uses a golf club and Ness uses a baseball bat, they have similar playstyles because those are both sports equipment. Or that because Samus and Mega Man both have charge shots they are similar characters.

I'm sorry if I came off as rude. There is only one character I want in this game. That character is Mewtwo. I supported other characters, but this is the only one that I need in the game. That's all I want.

:rotfl: Funny how the argument went from Mewtwo being a given to clones and the like. Anyway, sorry about Mewtwo. I don't think we'll get him. We might, I could be wrong, but we might not. Maybe I'm just bitter from Takamaru and Prince Sabel.

Lies? Oh, you mean "Mewtwo having a huge chance is pretty much a fact"?
He's extremely likely. He's easily the third most popular Pokemon, right after Pikachu and Charizard, and Sakurai wouldn't even bother commenting on his appearance if he knew he was going to disappoint fans.

RULE OF SMASH BROS:

If you are a popular pokemon that's tall, and your neutral B charges a ball of energy that can grow/stop at will, you're automatically a clone, and will be referred to as a clone for all of smash history. No acceptations.

He also happens to be the most wanted character worldwide. He has a LOT of things going for him, and is the most likely 'newcomer' ever, pretty much. But if you Think he, Lucario and Greninja are the same, then there's no reason to keep discussing this~
