I'm hosting a Project M tournament inside my garage for the first time ever. This is your chance to put your Smash skills to the test. If we have time, we'll do side events too (like doubles or crew battles). One of the side events will include a 25cent-winner-takes-all mini tournament in which we vote from a list of other different fighting games to play. So far I have 2 CRTs, 1 HDTV, and a PM set up. We will probably need at least 3 more CRT TVs and at least 4 more Project M set ups as well to get this tournament running more smoothly.

RULES
Apex Rules Applies
- Game Settings: 4 Stock, 8 Minute Time Limit, No Items, - - - Pause Disabled
- Starter stages: Yoshi’s Story, Fountain of Dreams, Final Destination, Battlefield, Dream Land, Smashville, and Pokemon Stadium 2
- Counter-pick Stages: Center row of page 1 of stage select
- First stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1-P1-P2 order.
- Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
- Following stages decided by winner banning three stages from all stages and then loser choosing.
- You may not choose a stage you have already won on unless mutually agreed to.

Conduct Rules (stolen from Sac Town Melee)
-BYOC (Bring Your Own Controller): Players are expected to bring their own controller and be prepared for every tournament set.
-Controller mods of ANY kind(short hop mod, L-trigger mod), except for cosmetic changes (paint jobs, different colored plastic), are banned. If you are caught using a banned controller then you are disqualified from the tournament with no refund.
- Turbo or programmed buttons of any kind are banned.
- You may use third party controllers or pads that have these features, but if you are suspected of using the banned features you will not be allowed to use that controller any longer. Failure to comply can also result in disqualification.
- You are responsible for your own controller and name tag and equipment. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible, keep an eye on your equipment and always check to make sure you’re using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played. Both parties need to agree if a match is to be restarted because of these problems.
- Intentional forfeiting, match fixing, splitting, and any other forms of bracket manipulation are not allowed and punishable by the TO.
- No substitutions are allowed for singles or doubles.
- Coaching is allowed only between games, not during. Failure to adhere to this will lead to punishment at the TO’s discretion, which could include the removal from the venue.
- DQ Rule: Arriving too late for a match will result in a DQ. Player(s) will have 5 minutes to show up before a loss of the first match. 5 more minutes results in a loss of the set. For doubles, both players on a team need to be present in order to play.
- The tournament organizer has the right to save/record any tournament match if possible and has the right to upload said match.
- Disrupting your opponent physically or intending to disrupt their play (through something such as screaming in a player’s ear) will result in a warning. Repeated action will result in disqualification from the tournament and possibly ejection from the venue. Observers who physically disrupt players are to be dealt with as the Tournament Organiser sees fit. Disqualification is recommended if possible, and ejection from the venue is also a punishment.
- (regarding textures and other game hacks):
- Players may request that any texture, stage, or other hacks be disabled during a tournament set. If this is unable to be done, they may switch to a different setup if available.
- Players are not allowed to use any game altering hacks, such as model hacks. If someone is caught setting up a system they brought with such hacks enabled can face punishment at the TO’s discretion.

As for the 25cent tourney, the following games will be voted on and played (if we have time):
- Samurai Shodown V (X-Box)
- Dead or Alive 3 (X-Box)
- Soul Calibur 2 (Gamecube)
- Sonic the Fighters (Gamecube/360)
- Super Smash Bros 64 (N64)
- Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (X-Box)
- Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (Wii)

It's mostly games you don't usually play or practice on. Sounds fun, right? And it's only a mere $0.25 to enter! Winner takes all! If you have any of these games or any other interesting games not listed here then feel free to bring set ups for them.

Also I almost forgot to mention some other stuff if you're going:
  • You can bring your own food here (Elk Grove is filled with restaurants anyways). Just be sure not to spill anything because we may get ants. Remember to take out all the waste once you're done.
  • I don't care if you bring alcoholic beverages, as long as you drink responsibly and have a designated driver with you. No drinking and driving. Also try to not be underage while drinking as well. At least try, I know you can do it.
  • If you need to smoke, do it outside somewhere. No smoking inside the venue, prease.
  • Watch your stuff! You are responsible for everything you bring, not me or anyone else. Watch over your equipment in case some jerk tries to steal it or break it.
  • With that being said, feel free to bring whatever stuff that you feel that will enhance this gaming experience. I'm talking about TV and video game set ups and controllers and arcade sticks and all that. Also chairs!
  • Be polite to others and have fun!
