Most of the information needed is in the image above, but come out to asheville on the 24th of January and let's play some smash 4 wii u! Gamexcape is a really amazing store that let's us run smash tournaments regularly without a venue fee. so far we've had a Project M tournament as well as a Melee tourney, both of which had 32+ participants. we are hoping to make this one the biggest yet!

PLEASE BRING SETUPS. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING TELEVISIONS. JUST BRING A WII U WITH SMASH WITH ALL CHARACTERS AND LEGAL STAGES UNLOCKED, AS WELL AS A GAMECUBE ADAPTER. WE WILL HAVE A FEW EXTRA CONTROLLERS BUT PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN IF YOU CAN.

FEES:
-singles: $5.00
-doubles (if it happens): $10:00 per team
-NO VENUE FEE


SCHEDULE:
5:00 PM - friendlies/signups
6:00 PM - final call for signups
6:30 PM - signups will close and singles will begin

depending on the amount of setups and turnout, we MIGHT host doubles as well, so if you want to see some doubles, PLEASE bring a setup.

RULES:
-3 stocks, 8:00 minutes (2 stocks, 6:00 minutes if there is a large turnout/not a lot of setups)
-no items
-sets are best 2 out of 3, finals are best 3 out of 5
-there are no stage bans in best 3 of 5 sets
-you cannot counterpick to the last stage you won on
-no custom moves/fighters and no mii's.
-if a match is timed out, winner will be decided by stocks, then percentage
-sudden death will never be played and can never determine the outcome of a match

HOW A SET IS PLAYED:
-rock paper scissors to decide who gets first stage ban
-take turns striking 1 stage each until only 1 stage remains
-match 1 is played on the remaining stage
-winner of match 1 bans 3 stages from the full list of legal stages
-loser picks the stage for match 2 from the 6 remaining stages
-winner has the option to change character
-loser has the option to change character
-match 2 is played
-repeat until set is complete

we also run a weekly smashfest at GameXcape every thursday at 3PM, where we play every version of smash and just hang out and improve! so come out if you can!

unfortunately it's just due to the fact that the venue does other things during the day, and that's the reason we can do it without a venue fee. but you are more than welcome to show up much earlier and play friendlies/practice. i'll be there a few hours early for sure.
