How do i record the TV?

I just tried to record a match with my brother and did really well and then i checked and it just taped what was on the tv, not the game. The game is in the "video" mode so thats not getting recorded. How do i set up a vcr or video camera to record the tv on the "video" set up for games?

the wii is plugged into the t.v., do you mean the video camera?
