The Global Melee Biweekly Tournaments are free tournaments open for entry. Because a majority of the Melee Netplay community is located in the North America, we are only running a NA bracket currently. When the community grows and we have enough players from other regions, we will expand to include the other regions. Splitting the netplay into regions reduces latency and headaches for those playing.
This is a singles tournament, following a double elimination format, and will use pools after it gets to a certain size. Pools details are within the tournament instructions

2. Schedule:
Next event will take place August 24th, with a start time at 5PM EST
If for some reason you will be late to this tournament, msg either JMC and we will allow 30 minutes for you to arrive late. However refusal to inform either of us of your late arrival will result in the following.
15 Minutes late to your match will result in a loss of game 1.
5 minutes late after the first 15 minutes have passed will result in a loss of game 2.
There will be no excuses. We have to be strict on punctuality to run a smooth tournament.
3. General Rules and Dolphin information::
3A. Requirements:
In order to enter this tournament you must be able to run all the neutral stages at 100%. Dual core is acceptable. We reserve the right to disqualify anyone incapable of doing so. It is recommended that all players that can play singles core, play single core. This will prevent any disconnecting and allow for the fairest game to be played.
If any false desyncs occur, we hold the right to DQ whom we see fit.
We will be running doubles elimination bracket, If 30 more people register for this tournament we will then be running pools. 4 Pools, top 3 make it out. 12 man bracket.

4. Melee Rule-set::
4A. Neutral Stages:

Winners Finals, Losers Finals and, if necessary, Pools Finals will all be 3/5 format, and do not have bans. All other matches are best 2 out of 3.
1.Opponents choose their characters for the first round of a match.
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure. Alternating strikes 1-2-1.
3. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
4. Winner of the previous round may announce a ban for a stage that the loser cannot pick.
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next round's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
4C. Other rules:
By entering this tournament you are agreeing to the possibility that your match may be recording or put on stream for others the view. JMC and Myself (GM_Atlas) Will determine which matches will go on stream and should be recorded. If you match is to be played on stream you will be notified before the start of your matches and instructed on where to go. Your match must be played on stream if you are directed to do so, refusal will result in a forfeit. Recordings will be periodically be uploaded to the Global Melee Youtube Channel for people to view.
