I'm not running this tourney, just helping to spread it.

Roanoke Gaming is hosting its very first smash tourney!! This will help further revive MD/VA!

It will be right next to the Tech Exchange. I don't have any pictures to provide of the venue unfortunately.

Fees:

No venue fee.
$10 for Melee
$10 for Project M


Prizes:

1st:70%
2nd: TBA

Food:

The two closest places to the venue for food are McDonalds, Wendy's and Dairy Queen. About 9+ minutes from the venue is downtown Salem, Which there are MUCH more food options available.

Schedule:

1:30pm: Venue opens/Registration/Friendlies
2:30pm: Registration Ends
3:00pm: Singles for both Melee and Project M Begin
Venues closes when singles for each game is finished.

Ruleset:

  1. No Fighting
  2. No Weapons of ANY Kind, Real or Fake, Unless Given Permission by Special Rule or Staff
  3. No Alcohol (Unless Permitted at the Venue – i.e, a Bar)
  4. No Drugs
  5. Conduct Yourself in a Respectful Manner
  6. Vandalism of Any Kind is Strictly Prohibited
  7. Selling of Anything is Prohibited (Unless Permitted by Roanoke Gaming)
  8. Respect Roanoke Gaming Staff (and Venue Staff) and Their Decisions
  9. Don’t Be a Jerk



Game Version: US Nintendo Gamecube

-Game Settings: 4 Stock, 8 Minutes
-Sets are Best of 3 – Finals are Best of 5
-Items Set to “Off” and “None”
-Either Player May Call for a Double Blind Character Selection for the First Match
-Unless Agreed Upon, Controller Port is Determined by Rock Paper Scissors
-For Doubles, the Controller Ports Must Be 1-2-2-1
-For Doubles, Team Attack is On and Life Stealing is Allowed
-No Wobbling1 Past 250%
-Pause Option Disabled in Game Menu
-Quitting Out of a Match Before it is Over Will Result in a Loss for the Quitter
-If Time Runs Out, the Person with the Most Stock Left (or Least % if They are Equal) Wins
-If the % is Equal as Well, Play a 1 Stock 3 Minute Match, Same Characters and Stage
-Dave’s Stupid Rule: A Player May Not Counter-Pick Any Stage He Won On in a Set
-In the Event That the Game Crashes or the TV/Wii Loses Power in the Middle of a Match, that Match Will Be Restarted from the Beginning with the Same Characters and Stage.
-If a Player Uses a Known Glitch to Intentionally Crash the Game or Otherwise Make it Unfinishable, That Player May Be Forced to Forfeit the Match or Be Disqualified from the Tournament All Together at the Referee’s Discretion
-No Excessive Stalling Allowed
-No Coaching During a Match

- For the 1st match, stage strike the starter list in 1-2-2-1 fashion. After each match, the winner of the previous match bans 3 stages (Players may counterpick a stage that they previously banned in the set, but may not counterpick a stage on which they won). The player who lost the previous match chooses a stage, then the player who won chooses their character, then the player who lost chooses their character.

Ok. I'll probably try some new streaming software at tonight's tournament to see if that improves anything. I'd like to learn how to get in game and real life sound captured at the same time
