Game Idea: Playable Bosses

With the new Wii-U Gamepad there is opportunity to add some unique gameplay never seen in a fighting game before. Tell me what you think of this idea.

Since we know bosses will be making a reappearance (Yellow Devil and that giant green thing that look like if Slimer and dragon had a baby) what if you could do more with it? The player with the game pad controls a boss and fights the other players.

The search was down and it wasn't around after the first 3 pages.

I like this idea. Brawl had a similar hack a while back, but it would be nice to have a versus mode with bosses usable.

I think this would be a great idea for nintendo to explore not only for smash but for other series as well. It would definitely add more multiplayer elements to certain games.

I think both the Yellow Devil and the Lord from Find Mii aren't bosses but rather are stage hazards...

Its possible that they could be stage hazards but I doubt it. Why would they feature Yellow Devil at the end like that with Megaman clearly fighting him?

Gohma (Zelda)
King Hippo or Bald Bull (Punch Out!)
Zoda (Star Tropics)
King Boo (Mario)
Giygas (Earthbound)

Now I'm just picturing in my head how you could control Giygas as a playable character.

That would be kind of cool to see. Maybe it gives you the chance to play as Petey Piranha or something. Better yet, maybe you could be as Yellow Devil from Mega Man.

Giygas would be tough to put on Smash. Especially when one of his attacks is "You cannot grasp the true form of Giygas attack!" but he's one of the most epic bosses Nintendo has ever created. He has to get in there some how.


And no Mewtwo doesn't count
