Game Freezes When Selecting a Stage

My brother and I have tried multiple different stages, (Temple, Pictochat, Final Destination) with multiple different characters (Roy, Kirby, Yoshi, Link, Lucas) and everytime the stage is picked the stamp of "READY TO FIGHT!" comes up on the screen and then nothing happens. Is this a simple fixable glitch or is this a bug I should be reporting? (I'm new here)
