Saying the competition will be fierce would be a severe understatement. Among those confirmed to attend include Apex 2012/2015 champion SuPeRbOoMbAn, Apex 2015 runner-up tacos, and Mariguas with back to back 4th place finishes at Apex 2014/2015. KeroKeroppi (5th place at Apex 2015) will be in attendance as well, earning a plane ticket as first place prize from New Hampshire-based tournament Beast of the East. For those who like to watch Xanadu, three regulars in Shears, Bark Sanches, and Darkhorse will be flying out to attend as well alongside Karajan, the developer of the keyboard adapter.
Despite the strong competition the locals in SoCal plan to hold down the fort and see West Coast represented in the top eight. Keep an eye out for Kyle tree, Sotoh, Wookie, Near, Madrush, Eggmode, and Hero Pie to see if they can make it happen!
Not enough hype? While not yet confirmed there are several other exciting names that may be in attendance. Han Solo is expected to attend coming all the way from Illinois, and online Samus main Kabal is expected to travel from Nevada as well. There have even been talks of the one and only Isai traveling down from San Jose to compete. For those who'd say if Isai attends he has the event, with keyboards adapted more available Bane, who holds the best online record against Isai, is a possibility to attend as he can use his controller of choice.
The event will be streamed by LA Smash, the same people who streamed Smash 64 at Apex 2015.
