Who is Edea Lee?
Edea Lee is one of the 4 main characters from the 3DS exclusive game Bravely Default, a highly successful and popular JRPG made by Square Enix. At the beginning of the game, she is part of the Eternian Sky Knights and is sent to capture the Wind Vestal, Agnes Oblige. However, after seeing the kind of acts her side was committing, she allies herself with Agnes. She can come off as spoiled and stubborn, but can be kind and has a strong sense of justice. She hates evil and is very passionate. She loves sweets, and is a terrible cook.
Why should Edea Lee be in Smash 4?
Bravely Default is one of the most popular games on the 3DS, and though it is made by a 3rd party company, it's exclusively on the 3DS. Many Smash fans would love to see a Square Enix character on the roster, and Edea would be a very strong choice. Bravely Default has 24 diverse jobs, and Edea's moveset could be derived from these jobs. There is a huge number of possibilities. Not only that, but the new fighting mechanics in Bravely Default, Brave and Default, would make her a very unique fighter. Those 2 mechanics also played a major role in the success of Bravely Default. What are these 2 mechanics exactly? Well, during turn based combat in Bravely Default, going Default allows you to go on the defensive and store up Brave points. Later during the battle, you can go Brave and unleash several turns worth of attacks with the points you store up. Or, you can go Brave right away, but once you go negative, you have to wait for a few turns to go back to 0 points before you can move again. This allowed for more strategy during battles in Bravely Default, and would also make Edea a very unique fighter in Smash 4.
