Smash Journeyman
So I made a mention of this recently on the Samus general thread but upon further inspection this is character specific tech (well sort of). Neither Robin, Donkey Kong, Sheik or WFT can execute this tech even though their neutral B's can be shield canceled. This tech also works with Wii Gunner unsurprisingly however as it also shares our missile ledge cancel
To Execute: While charging slightly tilt your control stick as if you were to do a shield drop and hold it at the lowest point of the range possible. If you input your shield at any moment while holding the control stick in this position, you'll instantly cancel your charging animation into a shield drop.
EDIT: I went into the lab more intensively in order to master the tech and it appears you can't just keep the stick at the right position and press shield whenever. The shield input must come in short succession after you've rocked the control stick down into position. The timing is pretty tricky and I'm not 100% sure if the shield input needs to come quickly after the control stick meets its range or at the very same moment but I feel like the former is true.
Shield drops are tricky to perform for beginners and quickly shield dropping is tough in general especially when done in quick succession after another input. This tech gives us a huge option on platforms and I believe it will play heavily in to Samus' meta further down the line especially since (basically) no one else can do it.
If someone could maybe record a video of it in action, I'd be really appreciative and would put it up on the OP here.
