Welcome to the Backwoods. This will be a Melee and Project M house tournament occurring on February 28th (tentatively). My house is about 1 mile outside of Stevens Point by Club 10 if you know where that is.

Registration will be payed at door but I also have a link on the Facebook event page to follow. I want to get the brackets done early and by telling me prior, it would be much easier.

I have just recently been introduced to the competitive community and I must say that it's awesome. I enjoy how open and supportive all of the people I have met have been. Because of this, I decided that I could host a tournament. I am doing this to support the community a bit more and to get to know more of the people within it. My house proves to be a perfect spot to do this. It is very spacious and should be able to hold a fairly large amount of people.

Over the past few weeks, I have been collecting CRTs and have gotten 8 TV's now, with most of them being over 30". All of these will be able to be set up in my living room. I just need you guys to help bring some set ups. I have one Melee and one Project M set up. The rest will need to be brought.

Along with the massive living room, I also have a large kitchen. Because of this, I decided that by having a small venue fee ($5), I will be able to provide all you can eat food for the days events. Most likely, I will be making BBQ Pork Sandwiches or having a Taco Bar. This will be along with snacks for the day as well. Bottled water will be provided as drinks but feel free to bring anything else as well. I will have room in my refrigerator.

Alright, on to the tournament. I will be having Melee and Project M singles and doubles brackets being run throughout the course of the tournament. I will have the schedule up for these shortly. The fee for each bracket is $5 per person. For example, If you want to be in all 4 events, it is a total of $20 to enter the brackets as well as the $5 venue (food) fee.

The rules for each game are as follows:

Melee:

- Items off.
- 4 stock, 8 minutes.
- Team attack on, life stealing allowed.
- Ties are going to be broken by lives then percentage. Percentage ties will replay the match with one stock on the same stage.
- Regular sets are best of 3 matches.
- Winners finals, losers finals and grand finals sets are best of 5 matches.
- The loser cannot pick a stage he or she has won on in the set unless agreed upon by both players.
- Gentleman's Clause: If the two players agree on a change in a rule, like choosing a banned stage, they are allowed to do so. If there is no agreement, standard rules apply.

Furthermore, once the tournaments are done, stay after for friendlies and a party! I have a foosball table, ping pong table, beer pong table, and much more. Feel free to BYOB for after the tourney. But, remember to be responsible if driving.

Also, if there is interest, I would definitely enjoy making this a reoccurring event. So at the tournament, if you would like to see this happening more, I can definitely keep power rankings and be able to seed you guys as well. Furthermore, I realize that people may be tentative of coming due to the fact that I am a new TO. My response to that would be to just come and try it out. I truly want to make this a good tournament and will drop out of it myself to just organize if needed. Thank you and let's make this a good tournament, can't wait to get to know more of you!!
