very nice! question though; some of my friends want to tag along with me but they work until around 3 on saturday (we are only competing in PM), so would we still be able to compete even if we couldn't make registration at 12? if not it's cool, i guess i'll just have to come without them lol.

The simple answer is yes. We'll be shutting down registration a few minutes before each event so the brackets can be made, but if you are there a little before whatever events you want to enter, you'll be able to join and compete.
If you know you are coming, you can also pre-reg using the link I posted above, and just pay the entry fees when you arrive.
very amazing experience, i wouldn't want any other event to be my first tourney. everyone was so nice and helpful and i improved a lot over the course of the day. thanks for a great time guys!
The venue was a really nice size, the side room was a definitely a bit awkward though: (some critique from person who doesn't know what they're talking about).
The side room was hard to get into, the Mario Kart was placed in the middle of the room near the entrance as well as there being another TV being close to the entrance. This made it really hard to get into the room especially with people watching. It seemed like there was a small TV in the back where the big TV could've been so I'm not sure if there was a different problem why it couldn't have been there. For the main room it was spacy but sometimes the space around the TV's seemed a bit small. During doubles sometimes people were trying to squish in. This wasn't much of a problem besides when there were two doubles sets next to each other and the one doubles set by the hallway to the other room. Melee singles was still going on during P:M doubles so placing a melee singles TV in between P:M doubles or spacing the TV's out more might help. This problem wasn't really prominent though. For managing friendlies vs. actual matches I saw some people playing on jank stages (flatzone) or just doing P:M singles matches during the melee singles/P:M dubz madness. Some people want to do P:M dubz though (more people playing, can be more hilarious, etc), which can be problematic. I think this problem could be fixed by having something that signifies whether it's a tournament or a friendly. An example of this would be having a red card and a green card stapled together, these cards would then be attached to the TV via yarn and tape. Then people would just flip the card depending on the match.
I saw, and played with, a lot of new people which is really cool. I'm glad that SC is getting bigger.
Tournament life = Win round 1 (2-0?), Lost round 2 (1-2?), Won round 3 (2-0?), Won round 4 (2-0?), Lost round 5 vs. ESAM (1-2). Almost beat ESAM, sandbag harder pls.
Was/am disappointed that I wasn't able to do singles because of the events running late or money match iron man ESAM but next tournament maybs.
Thank you to everyone that came out! Across all events we had over 100 unique entrants. This is so awesome! If you guys keep coming I'll keep hosting better events! Thank you!
