Tournament Ruleset & General Rules:
*4 Stock, 8 minutes
*Items set to OFF and NONE.
*Pause turned OFF.
*Team Attack is turned ON.
*Sets are best of 3 by default
*Winners, Losers, Grand, and Semi-finals are best of 5.
*Sets are played best of 3 by default.
*If a game ends in a time out, the winner is decided by highest stock count. If both players stock counts are equal, then lowest percent will decide the winner. If both stock and percent are the same, or if the match ends with both players dying simultaneously, the winner will be decided by a 1 stock 3 minute tie-breaker.

*No player/team may choose a stage they previously won on (in that set) unless the other player/team agrees.
All players are responsible for their own control scheme/name tag and must make sure it is set before the match begins. Both players/teams must agree to restart a match on account of a controller problem.
Any action that prevents the game from continuing results in a forfeiture of the match for the offender.
As a general rule, whoever the game deems the winner is the undisputed winner, regardless of any “Double Knockouts”.
*Project M has edited suicide moves (Flame Choke, Inhale) to result in the initiator dying last, however port priority can sometimes cause these moves to kill both players simultaneously. If a match ends via a suicide move and results in "sudden death" because of this, the initiator of the move wins.
Players/Teams always reserve the option to force a double-blind pick for the first match character select.
The Colorblind rule may be enforced by any player
Stalling techniques are banned.
Infinite's are illegal past 250%

- Starter Stages -
*Battlefield
*Final Destination
*Dreamland 64
*Pokemon Stadium 2
*Smashville
*Counterpicks:
*Lylat
*WarioWare
*Green Hill Zone

Set Format:
Both players/teams choose their characters and name/tags for the first game.
Players/Teams take turns striking starter stages in a P1-P2-P2-P1 fashion, and come to a final stage to start the set on.
First game in set is played
The winner of the previous game bans 2 stages from all available starter/counterpick stages.
The loser of the previous game picks one of the remaining stages.
The winner of the previous game picks their character.
The loser of the previous game selects their character
Game Start!
Steps 5-9 are repeated for each following match until the set is complete.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Super Smash Bros Melee Rule Set - *Starts at 12pm

Sets between players are played best 2 out of 3 matches (using 3 out of 5 or 4 out of 7 for final rounds).

Double Elimination.

*Each match is played with timed stock, usually 4 (but can be between 3 or 5) lives and 6 to 10 minutes (usually 8).
In the case that time runs out and both characters have an equal amount of lives, the character with less damage wins the match. If both characters have equal lives and damage, the match must be replayed; Sudden Death is strictly not to be played.
Items are turned off.

Starters
Yoshi's Story
Fountain of Dreams
Battlefield
Final Destination
Dream Land (N64)
*Players are given the option to "strike" stages from the random select.

Counterpicks
Pokemon Stadium

*For the first match, characters are chosen double-blind - at the same time, so that neither player knows his opponent's character beforehand. In practice, this rule is often ignored, but players always reserve the option to force a double-blind pick.
The loser of the first match (and of successive matches) chooses the next stage, and then the winner chooses his character, and then the loser chooses his character. This series of choices is called slob picks.
The loser can pick either a neutral stage or a counterpick stage, this list is based on MBR recommended ruleset:
The loser can also not choose any stage that has already been played earlier that round. The winner can ban stages from the opponent's selection, except in best-of-5 sets.
