rosalina wins this match up pretty solidly, id say +2 in our favour with default, rosa makes it EXTREMELY difficult for charizard to approach, really all he can do is space a flame thrower which doesnt do much and can be gravity pulled without punish because it takes zard a few frames to drop flamethrower. Rosa can juggle the crap out of charizard, and charizard is often hoping people run into him so he can punish with super armour moves but rosalina doesnt need to run into his moves. Luma blocks off almost any way charizard has to get in. charizards throws arent really a big issue because he shouldnt get in range to do them often. Charizard can flare blitz and kill luma, but when shielded its hardly worth it at all since charizard takes damage from the move itself and rosalina can literally run away from charizard without him really being able to catch you. Be wary of charizard when recovering because of his strong spike, and he can flamethrower during our up special but we can also destroy him off stage as well. He is a huge target that is easy to spike, flare blitz can easily be shielded and punished if he tries to recover with that, luma jab trap where you put her under the stage is insanely annoying for charizard.

How effective is Dragon Rush in this MU? Surely if blocked, Rosa can likely get a punish. However, regardless whether she blocks it or not, Luma still gets shredded/carried away anyways.

I used to think it was heavily in Rosa's favor before the Charizard buff hurricane started going on; now I'm not too sure. Flamethrower puts a hamper on Luma's effectiveness since it can flinch and it covers most of Rosa's approach options with Luma pretty well; and the fact 'Zard now has a reliable combo throw on top of his already fast grab definitely makes handling Rosa easier than before. Having a reliable kill throw also really helps the MU for Charizard. Luma himself is very much vulnerable to many of 'Zard's attacks; especially his jabs and aerials; I'd reccommend keeping an eye on Luma so that Charizard doesn't have the chance to inflict some major pain on the little guy. Rock Smash's super armor also causes issues for Luma.

Charizard is a character that preys on getting in somebody's face and pounding on them, which Rosa isn't the most well-equipped to deal with without Luma to wall Charizard out. Flamethrower (IIRC, at least; please correct me if I'm wrong, Rosa players!) beats out Luma Shot, which makes it a bit harder to use in the default MU, but Rosa definitely has the advantage of having two whole entities to work with, which could make combos a lot easier on Zard when Luma's in play. Fly is also pretty damn bad for Luma to get caught in, and Fly's also a very reliable OOS option on Rosa herself. Her lighter weight definitely means she'll need to play a very cautious game, since it takes more damage for her to get Charizard KO'd then it will take for Charizard to KO her.

He's still a big target, and the fact that he's a heavy is always going to be an issue...but I think the MU's a little closer to a 50/50 now in non-customs. Maybe 30/50 as opposed to Rosa dominating Zard 90/10 like at launch.

With customs, I think it really is an even 50/50. Customs greatly enhance Charizard's ability to get in on Rosalina, with Dragon Rush making for a solid recovery option and a good grounded option that does even more damage to Luma than Flare Blitz does (thanks to it being a multi-hit move) if Luma gets caught in it. Luma Warp is a dangerous asset to Rosa since that move basically negates the issue of Luma Warp getting blocked by Flamethrower, though; however, a simple dodge or a hard read can remedy that.

Charizard is really so much better than he was at launch in this MU, especially with customs.

Charizard is being analyzed again for this week. If you have anything to contribute for the match-up, especially in regards to the newest software update, this is the place to do it.

This match-up is in rosalina's favor, however zard can give you problems if you are not careful.

First of all zard's d-tilt, dash attack, f-tilt and sh fair are surprisingly safe luma killing moves.
Always look out for zard's jab2, it can set up grab, fly or u-smash. jab2 mixups can be beaten by luma's nair or DIng away and mashing jump.
Zard's new U-smash can jab lock, look out for reverse nair's as they might set it up. Zard's f-smash will kill you at ridiculous percents so do not get locked.
Zard gives rosa a hard time landing, remember his u-tilt and u-air are extremely disjointed so don't challange them.

In spite of all of this, the moment zard starts getting juggled he has no way of ever returning to neutral. Abuse his terrible air speed and bad landing lag. Just remember to look out for his rocksmash and respect his bair and you should be good to go.
Zard also struggles with ledge pressure so harass him as much as you can.

So yeah, just get zard to a disadvantageous state and then go ham.

I'd say she has a moderate advantage. While Zard can give Rosa problems, he simply gets punished so hard by Rosa that he cannot afford to mess up at all.
