This actually came up in my head when a certain QQQQQQQ7777777 said the Following:
Let's Begin.
STARTING UP:
Choose a Character, Stock, Difficulty, yadda yadda, onto the real fun.
Then, "the KI-Esque Betting Game thing" shows up.
This is where you can bet Hearts/Smash Coins/Whatever on how easier or more difficult you want your already set difficulty to be--higher risk, higher reward--, so you can have a 0.0 Easy, the Wimps way, or a 9.0 Intense, THE MANN'S WAY, or a 0.0 Intense, 5.0 Medium, 2.5 Hard, ect., ect..
Then, the player enters a Mario Party-esque Board.
Alright, time to make your way to Master Hand, choosing the paths you want to take and fighting anyone with your way. with games like Board the Platforms, Break the Targets, Snag the Trophies and even Home Run Contest. More Characters you unlock, more paths you can take. Heck, they could even take a page from Mario Sports Mix and add secret routes that lead to Alt. Costumes, certain New Challengers (like you could find Sonic on a Hidden Path, beat him n' unlock him.), and even some Customization Parts for the Character you're playing as, like Scalding F.L.U.D.D. and Super Lightweight Shoes for Mario, but the higher difficulty you play on, the better/more Powerful the items will be.
Winning, and Losing.
If you got to good old Master Hand in one piece, you can then duke it out with him (And maybe Crazy Hand, if you're good) to claim your prizes, beat Classic Mode, and you get what you came for, with a few bonuses here and there. (NOTE: You probably have to beat Master Hand in order to claim your Characters/Alt. Costumes, it's only fair.)
LOSE ALL YOUR STOCK, HOWEVER...
Half of your Collected Items will be lost. Characters and Alt. Costumes will always stay--unless you choose not to countinue--, but Trophies, Stickers, and even those precious Custom Parts might leave you at any time if you lose all your stock. You can choose to get up, but it will cost you some Hearts/Smash Coins/Whatever, and it will decrease the difficulty a bit, like from 9.0 to 8.0, which means the rewards you managed to hold onto will be better then the other things you obtain further on in.
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU BEAT CLASSIC MODE!
Here you get to do the good ol' SSBB shooter Minigame, where you shoot the Characters, Items, Assist Trophys, Trophy's, ect. to get even more money back (because you probably got alot from Classic Mode itself), then claim your Character's Precious Trophy. Now unlock some more Characters, jump back in there n' get the tools to make your Character do a 0% Damage Run of 9.0 Intense Classic Mode.
Have fun~
So I've taken the liberty of bundling those together and seeing how it would work with Classic Mode. And the boardgame mode, and the Kid Icarus esque betting game thing and all the other stuff in the trailer. Now it didn't specifically say it was 3DS specific, but considering the only version shown in the trailer was the 3DS version.
