Potential Pittsburgh Monthlies Questions/Discussion IT'S GONNA HAPPEN!!

So I'm the head of the University of Pittsburgh Smash club. We're legit with the university, so we can reserve rooms and such. To make this short, I want to have Pittsburgh monthlies. I sent these questions to Juggleguy since he's involved with Sweet, but consider these questions open to the public. Ignore any Sweet specific stuff.

1. How many setups do you typically provide? I'm able to provide four setups (three belong to the club, one is my personal one). How much do you have to rely on others for setups?

2. How many people do you guys typically get? This will help me figure out how many setups we'll need to run the tournament smoothly and still have a healthy amount of friendlies.

3. How much would you guys charge per event?

4. How much do you guys have to pay to reserve your space at UMich? This might be a moot point for myself as I can reserve a lot of rooms free of charge. I'd love to host tournaments without a venue fee though

5. Streaming setups? Do you guys go full out with a HD capture card? I've got a reliable but decidedly low end capture card. Also, I don't have a mixer, but I can use Virtual Audio Cable much like some LoL hobbyist streamers do. Should I bother with a more professional setup?

I mean, I can set it up so you can hear the two commentators pretty well over USB headsets while having watchable picture quality. Not sure if I should go much further than that really.

6. How many out of state players do you guys typically get? I know some of the Pittsburgh crew comes in sometimes.
And lastly to the public, how many of you guys would be interested in Pittsburgh monthlies? In particular, I wanna know about the out of state guys, but if you think there's a chance you can make it, post it regardless of where you're from.

EDIT: It's now a reality http://smashboards.com/threads/fight-pitt-i-april-13th-2013-pittsburgh-pa.334725/

Were you thinking of having this on? Friday saturdays or sundays?

also just an idea.. since theres a gonna be a undeneable skill gap between the PGH players and the new Pitt guys
we should do a thing at this like we did at CF4 where we run intial pools and top however many go to a Pro Bracket and the bottom players go to an AM bracket. gives the new guys something to strive for aswell doesnt rob them of games that are pretty unwinable. and then the can play out a competitve bracket.

as far as set ups go. we'll bring em. i can always bring 2. and record.

if your on FB you should join our NEOH/PA facebook page. so we can schedule these away from the cleveland monthlies.

as far as how many people would come to these.. i can imagine seeing at least 20 everytime. maybe more if there are a good amount of pitt players show up.

Words cannot express how interested I am in Pittsburgh monthlies. I have a setup that I can bring every time.

I'm assuming this is only targeted to the melee community right?
Our first priority is Melee. A lot of the PGH scene is Melee, so that gets first emphasis. That said, once we have enough setups to run Melee smoothly, I'm gonna run Brawl like it's my baby. If we can get enough setups from the community, I'm down to run Brawl right from the start.

Also will this place be easily accessible to non Pitt students?
Non Pitt students will be able to enter freely. I'm a bit concerned about parking. Soliders and Sailors has parking for about 14 bucks a day. This is gonna be a one day event, probably on Saturday to suit the college kids.

Where would they be taking place, exactly?
I have just placed a request for the William Pitt Union Dining Room A on Saturday April 13th.

Also Carroll, remind me to ask you about the amateur bracket.

I would definitely come if brawl is there. Every time. If you need setups I have a tv, brawl, and wii. Please keep me informed as to when this is happening and if brawl will be there. I have been looking for Pittsburgh brawl tourneys for a while and it's hard to come by
