As you guys might have noticed, This hasnt been updated in awhile...
This is because I have stopped playing smash.

There is no longer a smash scene in durango, and after 1/4th of a year, I still have not been able to fix my lag

I still no know that DDD is the greatest thing to be controlled by a controller, but I just cant be "into" smash without actual humans to play.


So... If someone who can keep up with the community wants to take over the thread or start a new one if you did not post within the first couple of pages... send me a PM and we will get something set up.

But even though I am leaving the smash community, I would likemy successor to be someone who is fairly serious about DDD... so use my format or something better, and try to update weekly.

ya, he kinda really does.

Im thinking that if the person playing sucks and doesnt do something new, im not going to put it in the first page... but its still good to post those things so people who are hungery for ddd action now can get it. but im hopen that any minute now we are going to start to get a flood of ddd vids.

its been out in japan for about 4 days, surely there is someone out there with a camera who likes DDD.

and i have requested DDD from the guy in the vid... and im not 100% sure if im making sense right now, because im alittle baked atm.

1:15, Had he hit B right before comming to the ledge, he would have lived.
1: 38, We fianly see his trip. I was hopen he couldnt trip. doesnt look too bad though.
2:30, If he had Usmashed Ylink here, i think it would have killed him.
2:55, It looks like the shockwaves from his Fsmash only go infront of him.
3:00, That Bair has more range then youd think.
3:23, That Dsmash killed him pretty easily
3:56, We see his spot doge, which looks pretty good.
4:10, We see his Fsmash, it doesnt hit Ylink, and Ylink is still far away, but it look like you have to be verry far away to avoid the shock waves.
4:15, I never noticed how stupid the range on that Ftilt was.
4:50, Survived powerful attacks till 184%. anyone who speeks japanese know what he says?

we dont yet have many DDD mainers who actually have a brawl, so we need as much help answering these questions as we can get.

Just some more competitive matchs would be cool. :)

Some small stuff I would like to see not in a match is how easy it is to cancel his up b to sweetspot the ledge

for some of the kind of advanced stuff out now if youve heard of it, I'd like to see reverse b-airs from him and jab canceling into a downsmash. If you need to know what this is, I can post the info

Sorry, i gave the wrong link (the title saying it was vs a samus should have given it away ;) )


anyways, the most obvious example to me was his Bairs.
we have seen it act verry poserfully, but he used Bairs early on, and as a result we saw them weaken on in the match when it should have mattered.
however we see that there were no diminishing returns on his Ftilt, so perhaps it only affects "kill moves"

also, he was kinda throwing random Fsmashes out there... noob.
anyawys, I should have about 9 good matches up by the end of the day.

It looks like CPUs are even worse... anyways, this actually does a pretty good job of showing what DDD has to offer, i might to a time analysis as i did before.... or i might save it for the good ones we have comming.

something good this vid shows is just how good DDDs BackRoll is.
its pretty much like a wavedash.

also, could somebody please tell me what happened at 3:35? was that a trip or a failed dash grab?
...because if that was a trip, that would be so fracking lame.

holy penile implant, even though the DDD is a CPU, this might be the best DDD play we've seen yet.

Ok in regards to nicktendo's question.
Dedede's canceled up-b does sweetspot the ledge. :)

Also just so you gus know, im working on a "very" in depth guide.

0:54: Fsmash can be used to kill would-be sweetspoters if they are in the middle of a glide/puff.
1:03: not sure yet completely how diminishing returns work, but this seems to suggest that the record is kept on your opponent. in other words, you dont get weaker with another move, the other guy builds a resistance to it until they die...
2:07: how does that Dair work, could it be used as a semi-spike?
2:41: hellz ya! DDD spike... if only we could activate the downwards part of it immediately....



I gotta say though, the CPU DDD still looks the pest :psycho:

Dang, Dedede CPU was pretty good. :o

If you noticed, the Dedede cpu canceled his up b at the edge to grab it. Looks like that will solve the sweetspot issue w/up b

only issue I take is that if he cant sweetspot during his puff, he wont be able to renew his invincibility frames on the ledge for mad ledge hopped techs.

No Dedede cant use his up b multiple times after helpless mode

at 2:35, he uses his up b and is then hit by wolf. Then he uses it again, but lands in the water so then he can use it again

If you land in water you dont die, you swim for a few seconds, which resets your jumps and up b

I'm the D3 player in this video. Overall I would rate my play in that video a C+/B-.

Things I need to work on:

1.Throwing in a single grab punch every time I grab the guy during the chain throws.
2. Need to use more Utilts, Dtilts and Bairs. Utilt comes out stupid fast and kills as good as the Usmash. Dtilts have deceptive range, come out extremely fast and have great knockback. The Bair is basically an aerial Dtilt that can be shuffled.
3. Stage awareness! I got destroyed by the cannons at the end.
4. Canceling the UpB earlier to sweetspot the edge.

Other notable things:

1. Side Bs are great for anti-projectile. Waddledees soak up the hits for you.
2. His spot dodge is absolutely fantastic.
3. The next batch of videos will have me tagged as SPACE, but I will be displayed as Ether the next we record.

Ive been buggen Keitaro to get the rest of your vids out. Glad your playen the king.

something else to note it that vid, it seems like you not canceling your upB when you were about to hit the ground really hurt you in the end.
how soon before you hit the ground can you cancel the upB to cancel out the lag?


also, you know about the new mechanic about diminishing returns and recharging your attacks, rihgt?
we belive that you can recharge your attacks by throwing your minions at your other minions (dees). and we know that you can recharge it by hitting your minions with your hammer.
I just saw you being verry aggressive against wolf, which worked out well, but sitting back and recharging your powerful attacks is something to consider.


and ya, you ***** with the step-dodge.

You can cancel the UpB as soon as you use it. Resetting DR by attacking the minions sounds viable. It will add more depth to D3 for sure.

I more meant, could you cancel the upB a split second before you hit the ground so you dont get lag form the attack portion from it?

isnt DDD one of the best anti spammers, if not the best?

just keep a minion between you and falco at all times and he will be forced to come to you, right? even if he can manage to shoot over them and still hit you when you lay down, your still throwing new DDDs at him to keep the pressure on.

also, your hitting your Dees with your own Dees, so its recharging your attacks.

Dees>lazers... at least in theory

and also his "chill" to Dtilt mindgame.

but I didnt really see you use Fair, Bair, Dair, or the jet hammer much, could you give us your opinion on those moves?

Here is a question ive asked that nobody has been able to answer yet.
I got one, How useful is DDD's reverse jump Bair

can you only do it from the ground, or can you do ir in a string of jumps?

Ex: if you jump twice, could you slam back on the control stick, forwards on the control stick, and attack with a Bair?

is there a situation where you would have to use a Fair, or can you do the Bair with this technique?

obviously the situation has changed, with the system of diminishing returns, you wouldnt want it to completely reblace diminishing returns, but it would be good to know.

if your off the edge, a reverse Bair would be perferable i think, because you would already be already turned around to start returning to the stage.
