Green hill zone discussion!

After seeing the first few screenshots of it, I thought the simple layout seemed pretty boring, but then I really warmed up to it as soon as I saw videos of the stage in action. As far as visuals go, I really couldn't of asked for more. I love how checkpoints appear randomly, and characters from the Sonic fanchise do the loop in the background, which also fits in really nicely with the layout.

I'm wondering if the music of this stage will either be a Remix or the actual Original 16-bit one. What do you guys think it should be.

A remix would be very awesome, but I have nothing against the actual one from the game.

Im not that fussed, I just want to see a video with the stage with that music playing. It would suit the atmosphere of the stage alot better making it feel even more awsome than it is now.

I assume they don't do anything appart from Ring once hit. Its still a nice little extra though. :D

looks like thats knuckles. i dont think silver will appear at all in brawl,although Iv seen shadow i think the whole idea of brawl is to be a retro as possible.
although the sonic series doesnt really stay very retro compared to mario

You can hear the sonic brawl music on youbte, iv heard there are 10 songs from sonic game soverall but the only 'oldie' thats been remixed is angle island, appart from that they're the same as they always have been

I think its possible to get smashed out by the check points spinning ball, i think i saw it but havnt played brawl so who knows.

Silver appears as a trophy, Sticker, and a cameo in Green Hill. So Shadow does appear. And new and old parts of the franchises are represented. As shown by the music from Green Hill to His World.

There are 12 songs. And yes, I guess you can say only one is remixed. Quite sad really.

12 is obviously better, and iv since seen silver in the greenhill stage. I was surprised to see him in as he's only in one sonic game and it wasnt even a hit... but whatever. I know Open Your HEart, and INstrumental of His World, Live and LEarn, Spring Yard Zone, Green Hill Zone, Angel Island Zone are all in, the rest I dunno.

This is a very memorable stage... because sometimes when I was younger, I would start to play, get frustrated and not get past the second stage. XD But I love how the ground occasionally gives way like in the actual game... granted, that puts a hamper on tournament play. Look up a video on Gimpy's youtube and you'll see what I mean with his Ganon vs Lucky's Falcon. Surprise ending.

So the loop is just for Knuckles, Tails, and silver? Why Silver? He hasn't even been in a Nintendo game yet (save for Secret Rings, which in no way counts). What about Amy, Espio, Metal Sonic, or Rouge? And why doesn't Eggman appear in the game at all (Green Hill background or AT)?

Sonic has 12 songs in brawl, you can choose which one you want playing for the stage thanks to MyMusic.

In this case its understandable though - neither Amy nor Cream are really major characters in the Sonic series.

Of course, neither is Silver, but I don't pretend to understand that one.

Interesting factoid: some chunks of the depression in Green Hill Zone collapse mid-match. One of the videos Gimpy posted had Peach falling down them a couple of times - it was hilarious.

Well I believe Amy gets a full modeled normal trophy and a sticker. While Cream is just a sticker.

Oh my gosh, Spring Yard Zone music is used. (Right? Someone mentioned it. That would be yet another WIN point for Brawl.)
That was my first favorite stage, and is still one of my favorites, along with the music... Oh, classic Sonic...<3
(The only other music they could include that would make me that excited is Endless Mine Zone and Labyrinth Zone... favorite!)

Of course, the music/stage Green Hill Zone was one of my faves, too. Man, I miss being 10.

I love how part of the stage collapses. That always used to piss me off. XD

Actually Spring Yard Zone is NOT used. The only Sonic 1 music in besides Green Hill is Scrap Brain.

I also found out Cream has a trophy as well. Also, if you want to hear more, Blaze appears as a trophy and a sticker as well. No mention of Rouge though (And personally, I'm glad. Rouge probably has more porn then all other female Sonic characters combined)

It definitely feels that way when you play it too. It's as if it was the last stage they made before deadline, and they were like RUSH RUSH RUSH!!!!

And...this...stage...isn't...fun...

it seems to me that not alot of characters "fit" correctly on the halfpipe maybe Sonic, Yoshi, Jigglypuff and maybe lucario and snake but when bowser and ROB especially (and lots of others to) stand in the middle it seems like one foot is standing on invisible ground. Gee thanks Sakurai!

You're not wrong, iv heard alot of dissapointment from smasha nd sonic fans about the stage, i like it but until i play it I can't say. But I assume that if you end up fighting against sonic on it, you're ****ed.

I love this stage. This is one of my favorite stages ever in any smash game. It really does an excellent job in capturing every aspect of the green hill zone, and intemlents them perfectly. The loop, the checkpoints, the destructable terrain. Wonderful stage, by far the best in brawl.

The level just seems so unappealing. It doesn't seem like it would be fun at all, and I hate walk-off levels. I also don't understand why albino-peacock-face appears in the background. They should have just left it with Tails and Knuckles.
