Smashfests/Tournaments
Who's bringing setups?

Feel free to bring your own discussion topics to the meetings.

------------------------------------------

All officers have access to this SN.

Any general discussions or just chatting or whatever should take place in http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=113627 (to keep this one relatively clean)

Officer list:

President: purekorea (Will)
Vice Pres.: Rx- (John)
Treasurer: QDVS (Andy)
Secretary: ZorakBane (Derick)

Committees:

Tournament Director: Frames (Kevin)
"Bouncer": Rx- (John)
Web Master: anoobis (Jon)
Cleanup Leader: Amber (all members should help with this)

Current Status:

Thank you for submitting a New Student Organization Registration Form
and constitution to the Office of Student Involvement (OSI). This is
the first step toward determining if your organization will become a
Registered Student Organization (RSO) with OSI, and we are looking
forward to aiding you in the process. Please visit
http://www.osi.sdes.ucf.edu/clubsorgs/registrationprocess.html to
learn more about the organization approval process.

Until organizations are approved by OSI, they cannot perform any of the
functions listed on the privileges section
(http://www.osi.sdes.ucf.edu/clubsorgs/privilegesofregistration.html) of
the OSI website. However, organizations are granted one reservation
within the Student Union prior to approval. Once this reservation is
made, no more can be done until the group’s final approval by OSI is
received. Groups are strongly encouraged not to create an organization
webpage until approved.

Please also note that although the constitution may be approved, before
your organization can officially be registered through OSI, one officer
must attend an RSO Orientation session. More information regarding the
orientation and registration for the session can be found at
http://www.osi.sdes.ucf.edu/clubsorgs/studentorgorientation.html.

I will be contacting you within the next week to set up an initial
meeting to discuss the organization’s constitution. Please feel free
to contact me if you have any questions at any time during the
registration process.

Thanks,

I spotted some typos that I am too lazy to fix. Some of this seems pretty serious, are those duties required by UCF, or did you make them up? Being an officer is harder than it looks.

Are we supposed to move all UCF discussion to this thread, or leave this thread separate?

AND ALSO>>

Anytime someone posts with this name, noone will know who posted unless they state who they are. Therefore I can post ridiculous false information regarding the club, and each of the officers will be left suspicious of who's responsible.

On that note: Stinky baby poop.

AND>>

If hiroshi joins, there will be a hazing policy for him. So that we can haze him. For free.

I'd prefer to keep most of the discussion in Bane's thread to keep this one relatively clean. I suppose I can edit the link in.

Also any "ridiculous false information" can be edited by me ^_^

Not required more like guidelines provided by UCF

Dude, you didn't have to quote it to say that, and you definatly didn't need to make a post that states something that obvious.

On a more positive note, all systems go, and as soon as an officer attends an orientation meeting, we are officially a club.

Please don't spam this thread.

Do non-officers have to attend an orientation?

Also, when is this going down, and when's the first meeting?

Well, Darrell, Non-Officers are not required to attend the orientation. It's tentatively occuring on Oct 10. And our first meeting is likely going to be a Kick-Off of sorts, to get things going. And If I had modding abilites, I would take care of spammers.

Change in orientation date: Tuesday, October 02, 2007 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM in lieu of Rx's request to go to the earliest possible to get the club started.

Hey Guys,

Gigabits is interested in resuming holding Smashfests again now that we have our new console room done. We would like to invite you guys to hold your smashfests at Gigabits with us.

We would like for a representative from the club to come speak with Manny and I about this!

Please PM me.

Check first post "Current Status" for email from OSI.
I like how they make it sound like all our efforts might go to naught. "this is the first step to determining if your group will be a regestered OSI" or whatever it says. I already consider us a club, but we **** well better get funding, or I'll be PISSED!
