Train Info: Take the LIRR to Ronkonkoma Station. Directions from Ronkonkoma Station to Castle Golf.

July 1st @ 1pm. Casuals will be running till close. (could be as early 10pm or as late as after midnight depending on level of activity)

Fee: $10 venue + $5 for each tourney you enter. Sorry, but you must pay the venue even if you want to play casuals only.

Bringing TVs and systems cuts off $5 from your tourney fees. Sorry, but no matter how many TVs and systems you bring, you will still have to pay the $10 venue. Basically, bringing equipment gets you 1 free tourney per item you bring. (of course, it counts only if we actually use your TV/system)

Prize split: Depends on how big the pot is for a certain game. If it's big enough for the 70/20/10 split, there ya go. If not, winner takes all.

Tourneys & casuals include, but not limited to: (feel free to suggest more)

Super Smash Bros Melee
Dead Or Alive 4
Soul Calibur
Soul Calibur II
Soul Calibur III
Street Fighter III: Third Strike
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Capcom vs SNK 2
Melty Blood: Act Cadenza
Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core
Hokuto No Ken (Fist Of The North Star)
Tekken: Dark Resurrection
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Virtua Fighter 5
Vampire Savior
Killer Instinct
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Mortal Kombat: Deception
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon

Plus: Dance Dance Revolution Extreme

This is Castle Golf's first major game event, so let's make it a big one. I've got a good handful of people coming from NYC and even NJ, so let's keep it rolling with more participants. :bgrin:

I'm considering going to castle golf on the 1st with a couple of kids from my school that play semi-competitively. I just wanna know if there is going to be a majority of melee set-ups or if it will all depend on how many systems are there. Also what type of tournaments will there be (1v1, 2v2, low tier, etc.)?

Unless there are a plethora of people playing the same game at once, there will be only one TV for any particular game at a time.

As far as how the Smash tourney will be run, let me know what you all want. If I don't hear any requests, I'll just go with the Evo2k standard.

Smash is not the only game there. The other games need TVs too.

But like I said, if there are really that many people playing the same game and depending on how many TVs there are there, then maybe there can be more than 1 TV for the same game.

That kind of attitude is why it's hard to get more people to play these games.

We're always encouraging new people to jump into the scene and introducing people already in the scene to new games.

In the end, the tournaments still come down to the hardest of core. The placers are all players who can rock with the best at Evo and even SBO.

We set-up stuff and start playing casuals as soon as I get there. (I'll show up sometime between 11am - 1pm. Most likely 12-ish) We'll play casuals for a while (probably till like 2 or 3) before starting any tourneys.

How much space is going to be available? Because if there is enough space, then you don't have to worry about TVs, the smash community will be more than willing to bring TVs. But this seems like it's going to be poorly organized, one day for tournaments for like 10+ different games. I would definitely attend with set-ups, if I can get some promises that this is going to go smoothly.

Alrighty. The event was a huge success, with over 40 people coming from all over to play 10+ different games.

Whoever ran the Smash tourney for me, thanks a bunch. That was an extremely huge help. It was hectic enough for me to run another 6 or so tourneys at the same time.

Anyways, we'll be doing this again on July 28th:
