Personally i think it will be competitive in 2 v 2. But there will be still people flaming competitive 1v1 matches.

I think if 2 v 2 is posible... why not 1 v 1?

If you categorize "very good" players as using special techniques, and bad players as those who don't, I think you may find yourself wrong a lot more often in Brawl than in Melee, and furthermore, it will taint your own mind's ability to look at Brawl clearly, without any bias from Melee's way of playing.

Very true, but the REAL meat of that match was R.O.B. vs. Ivysaur...that stuff was intense, and even Pit vs. Metaknight in the second video! That 1v1 down to the wire, and if that stuff isn't competitive, then what is?

It was a fun day, and very good practice. If you watch all the videos youll probably see an increasing skill level over the day.

Too bad we didnt put down what were the first videos and what were last. However, i think the increasing skill-level is noticable. The set of team matches up now were the first matches , and the singles were last. there was another set of teams in between. Thats gonna be up later.

After a full day of solid playing with some great (melee) players, i think its safe to say that even though brawl is different from melee, it's a great game. The physics take a little time to get used to, and right now the technical play is much lower than melee ofcourse. But new tricks and exploits will probably be found within the next few months and technical play will get better. I think brawl is gonna do just fine

Kirby waveland at 1:59?

Edit: Also note Kirby's very low short hops. If that waveland could be easily replicated and perfected, imagine how that could affect his metagame.

Possibly. You have to get the momentum going downwards and your air dodge takes longer to start so you have to be pretty high in the air for it compared to how we waveland as far as we figured out. But might be different for kirby.

Dunno If I can maybe. I uloaded a small portion of the vids I took today vs Johnnyboy and Coen. We tried to play a lof of different characters. We got a lot of DDD, snake, wario and ike matches. They are on the gefaabd account on youtube. Coen will make a different thread I think tomorrow.
