I mean, all of those are your opinion tbh. None of those are actual facts.

1 - That is 100% an opinion, Banjo and Steve reactions are proof of that

2- that is also 100% false, everyone has a different opinions

3- There is always a controversy so that is nothing new

4- again, that is an opinion not a fact.

I just think it would kinda suck to have two characters with a building gimmick in a row.

It's not a bad idea-in fact, it might be the best idea they've had yet. If Fortnite gets in the sales of this game and DLC would skyrocket, they might even have to rerelease the Smash/Switch bundle just to keep up with the demands! I personally would be indifferent to Fortnite getting in, but there are so many people that would be happy with it that I can't really be mad. Plus a Fortnite stage would be really fun.

Here are my thoughts on this:

1. What is this low reputation among players you're talking about? From what I've heard, SSBU is still going strong and is considered one of, if not, the best Smash game ever made.

2. This is a blatantly false claim, and entirely subjective. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, most of the hate that Fortnite gets is thanks to a little something called "cringe culture", which is what Minecraft also suffered through for a long period of time, where everyone follows a crowd of hating something because it's fun to do on the internet. Of course, there are people who genuinely like or dislike the game, and form their own opinions/criticisms based on their experience playing, and that's the respectable thing to do. But claiming that everyone and their mom hates Fortnite based off of what random people say on the internet is not a good idea. Please do research or try the game yourself, and form your own opinion from there.

3. Controversy is guaranteed to happen no matter who makes it in. Hell, even if characters like Crash Bandicoot, Sora, Dante, and Waluigi make it in, there's always going to be some people who don't like those characters. From a developer's perspective, trying to please everyone is impossible to do. Everyone will have different opinions. What matters more is player feedback, and what can be done to improve the game/character. If flame wars happen, flame wars happen. Sakurai can't control other people's opinions, or what people say on the internet. That's why we have moderators on here and other websites to stop flame wars if they happen.

4. Once again, this is subjective, and dependent on everyone's preferred playstyles. Min Min has "weird gameplay", but once you get used to it, she's pretty fun imo. Most characters usually feel weird to play at first, and take time to get used to. I'm still getting used to playing Steve and learning how to utilize the building mechanic.

Overall I'm all for having Fortnite in Smash. There is a massive amount of moveset potential to utilize, great music, and an ever expanding island to use as a stage. The game certainly deserves it in my mind. If you don't like Fortnite, that's completely fine, but please form your own opinion rather than following a crowd on the internet.

You have a point Janx, you did say rerelease right? It would boost up sales and allow Nintendo to make room for improving the game

I mean, it's Leffen, that's about all that needs to be said. I dunno Tweek, but Leffen is just 'that guy'. There's a reason the Twitter account DeepLeffenBot is soo popular.

By rerelease, all I meant was that they'll just make the Switch bundle again and put the standard copy of Ultimate with it, since Fortnite players who didn't have a Switch may not want to go out of their way to get Ultimate and a Switch and an online service and a ProCon.
And yeah, I don't usually pay attention to Leffen. He's made some shockingly bad takes in the past.

I actually hated Fortnite before everyone else did. It took 2 years before anyone jumped on my bandwagon at school.

i will quit smash if this happens most likely i won't play it for a looooooong time. god i hate fortnite literally ruining everything. that cringe should stay away from other games >.>

It's a "Bot" that's made to pretend to be a deepfake of Leffen's twitter account. It's not actually a bot and is a parody account which is made to make fun of Leffen and his outlandish Twitter outbursts, with its posts being intentionally nonsensical like a Leffen rant.
