Well, I'm not 100% sure ATs and costumes are hard disconfirmations (especially costumes considering there were costumes of playable fighters in Smash 4), but I know what you mean. Most of your choices seem reasonable. I don't know if there might be some other stronger first party choices as I don't see Birdo, Slippy, or Peppy having much chance against even the weakest third parties. Starfy is also an Assist. And if you consider stage elements eligible, I'd pick Captain Toad before Pauline. Maybe Andy could work instead of one of the Star Fox characters?
