It's actually much easier to do with DK in Smash 4. However, and this is unfortunate, Sheik cannot cancel needles in the air without air dodging =/ I'm not sure why they changed that.

You can cancel the air dodge animation (before it even comes out) with a special move though.

For instance, full hop needle charge, then press R, then immediately followed by down b.

It's almost simultaneous. Your bouncing fish will come out during your needle charge animation =x

Keep in mind this can be done with any directional special as well =)
