You can play competitively. If you want, you can play with a Friend on every stage.
Banning a stage sometimes makes no sense at all.

That logic about banning stages was confusing me.
Soul.
Soul.
And that's why we need to be careful on banning stages this time. I'll list which stage is played the most in every Smash game:
· Smash 64: Dream Land
· Melee: Battlefield
· Brawl: Battlefield, Smashville
I honestly don't see the point of banning a stage until we try out the characters and experiment with the metagame. Then we can discuss the stages.

Is Dream Land the only viable stage in 64? I mean we can honestly start banning stages thanks to D1. We already know stages like 3D Land can be banned immediately. I'm really hoping that Spirit Tracks is viable. I think I'm getting ahead of myself on that.
Soul.

I'm not sure. Almost every Smash 64 match is played on Dream Land. Hyrule Castle's legality is up to the tournament organizer's discretion.
3D Land and Golden Plains are banned. Spirit Train will be fine.

Reset Bomb Forest is fine in my book, I think the only thing that harms it is that one KIU enemy.
Soul.

That enemy OHKO's. I'm not sure about its legality.
It should be fine, but it's probably going to have a lot of camping and stuff.

From what I have seen, Orne is in Smash Run. That worm looking thing won't affect gameplay.
Yeah, you're right. The stage will transform back.
The first part of the stage is fine, though. I don't see the problem with that.

Here's hoping that Boxing Ring is viable. I hope no one is the King Dedede of SSB4.
Soul.
Soul.
Well, to be honest, Boxing Ring seems fine but they would ban it for being a walk-off and the stage hazard at the top of the stage.
They would also ban it because when the stage hazard falls down, the stage turns dark and you can't "see".
Rocket Raccoon
Rocket Raccoon
Dang it, the platform might kill it now. Does it really become THAT dark?

Still hoping for it to be legal. I don't think it's THAT dark for competitive play.
Soul.
Soul.
I don't think so either. I've heard the 3DS competitive scene wants to be more liberal with stages, so this could be Boxing Ring's chance to be legal.
Rocket Raccoon

I'd push it to be liberal. It's the first handheld Smash game ever so just let it do what it wants. We can have the Wii U version be standard and the 3DS be whatever it wants.
Soul.
Soul.
I want both to be the standard. Not everything is going to be Smash Wii U 24/7.
I want Smash 3DS to be competitive and liberal at the same time, while also doing those fun tournaments if at some point the player doesn't want to play the game competitively.

I think the 3DS will have more laxed rules just because that there might not be enough stages for a metagame. (Don't quote me on that.)

Oh, but there will be. Just you wait....40 days.
Rocket Raccoon
Rocket Raccoon
40 days is so long. :( Why must you delay it?
