Many times, there are plenty of them once you actually start thinking about it, besides the obvious SSJ-Super Sonic. Silver, powerful hedgehog from the future with a mission in the past to eliminate a threat from the earth, sounds like Trunks to me.

Knuckles is Piccolo. Both are the last of their kind (well Piccolo is the last of the warrior Namekian race.) Both protect the 7 Dragon Balls/Chaos Emeralds (similarity there too.)
