Oregon Smash Community [OSC] - Oregon's official Smash Community est. 2005

The scene's been kind of slow lately and a downturn from where we were to start. https://gab.com/t0mmySSB/posts/111988166450302816

It is nice to see a polite person in the scene. I usually drop by the Oregon Smash Community thread to update anything and check to see if any new people drop by through there. I wish you the best with Smash and any gaming experience in the area.

Oregon Smash Community [OSC] - Oregon's official Smash Community est. 2005

It's been forever since I've hosted in New York, and yet still people remember these events and take time to post some positive things like this. It can be easy to forget how all that work I've done has impacted the community as a whole until I see responses like this. There are times to be...

Yeah, the scene has been a little topsy-turvy lately, so not surprised that the event posted was canceled. AFAIK Ground Kontrol never got a Smash scene going there, so probably not the best place to find Smashers, but a nice place to chill with some games. I haven't been active in helping...

As posted in the OP, Oregon Smash Community will require TOs to follow the Community Tournament Guidelines as set forth by Nintendo. This will provide a good playing environment for attendees as well as provide a Nintendo-approved licensed event so as to avoid any issues with using their IP.

This is some interesting new development on tournaments: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/63433/~/community-tournament-guidelines

    Nintendo Releases Community Tournament Guidelines

Having read through the entire document and being part of the ever growing Smash scene from its inception, I have to say I am more on the side of Nintendo with this one. Of course some points I'm a little iffy on and would rather leave it to a tournament "market", so to speak. The tournament...

What lessons should the next Smash take from other platfighters?

After setting out to remove every fun mechanic in the series that helped define it, I think there's still a few other things that could be mentioned. I remember when the games actually functioned properly and rewarded technical and smart gameplay. But maybe take a cue from other games by not...

    Hideki Kamiya Leaves Platinum Games

They'd better find someone that can fill those gun-strapped shoes. With the exception of Resident Evil 4 he was the talent behind their best games, and even then I suspect the best part of RE4 was using what he had developed prior.

I wonder who "Mario Kid" was at OSU III... Was it that same kid that Gage said he heard claiming he had a "Mountain Dew sponsorship" Has anyone else seen a sour-faced Mario main throwing their controller and spazzing out claiming to be "the greatest" and flaunting fake sponsorships...

Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct Announced!

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is one of the best looking Mario games in years. I love Tezuka's classic Super Mario Bros. gameplay for Mario and prefer that over the recent 3D Mario games. I'm interested if Tezuka produced this next title like he has with previous similar Mario games (the "New"...

Oregon Smash Community [OSC] - Oregon's official Smash Community est. 2005

Given the recent activity of some local players, I've decided to come back to hosting Smash tournaments again. I've set up an invite-only series which gives priority to competitive-minded individuals; capping weeklies at 16 entrants with monthlies having an adjustable cap given the growth of the...

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages & Seasons now available on NSO

Just played both of these games twice through on my 3DS, so kind of bad timing of release. Haha Strangely enough these games were better than I remember them. Not flawless, to say the least, and there was some infuriating parts in the scenario planning that I wish I could skip past, but...

Oregon Smash Community [OSC] - Oregon's official Smash Community est. 2005

Just wanted to put this out in the open that this thread is for proper discussion about Smash, not a platform for witch-hunting and white-knighting or any form of antagonistic behavior. If there is any real problems that need to be properly discussed and worked out it can be done with...

    Pikmin 4 Demo Released

Pikmin is an oft overlooked series for Nintendo. It took a while to get here, but it is coming soon and I am happy to see another entry in a fantastic series.
