You are correct that the party aspect sells this game, but smash is not even close to being balanced around ffa's because, well, ffa's are innately imbalanced. People often play them with items on, as whichever character they feel like...

I'm still undecided about customs, and I'm sure this is something that has already been said, but it kind of scares me that customs have, to my knowledge, never been addressed in balance patches (except in cases where changes to the default special also change the related customs, eg Ike's side...

So which characters do handle zoning relatively well compared to the rest of the cast? I would still think fox is a solid choice, with a projectile of his own, a reflector, and speed to close the gap quickly. Is this correct/other characters worth mentioning?

Agreed, luigi struggles against characters that can force him to approach and likely needs a secondary more than the other top tiers if you want to compete at the highest level. My experience with smash 4 is still a bit limited... which characters are best for countering zoning type characters...

OK. But keeping a character faithful to his source material is not a good excuse for poor game design, especially when other characters in the game don't get this treatment.

Kirby can fly infinitely in his games. Also, when kirby inhales an enemy, they are dead. Sometimes it's best not to make characters in smash function exactly like their in-game counterparts. I'm pretty sure I saw a greninja main in this very thread saying post-nerf Greninja only loses in 2 or...

Yeah, I suppose fair being punishable if it misses is no different than many great OoS up-b's being punishable if they miss. The important thing is just to make sure fair will be fast/close enough to punish, and then it's still a great option. I guess I'm mostly curious about his ability to...

That would be awesome. On the topic of Ryu's weaknesses, one thing I've seen brought up but not really discussed is his aerial mobility. I don't mean his forward movement speed in the air, which is pretty good, I mean his relative inability to change directions in the air once he starts moving...

i know there are no set times for the end of the tourney, but does anyone think they could give an estimate of how long this thing might last? How long does a tourney of this size usually run?

STILL a high chance I will be coming to this, with another guy whos name is to be determined (Metanoob?). I will most likely not be bringing my copy of brawl, as it has been encountering errors every time I try to play it lately =/ But if ya'll are lucky, it will just mean I am out of practice...

cant make it to the smashfest, i gotta work this saturday. But, there is a good chance I will be making it to lithonia on the 18th along with a doubles partner. I hope to play all of the best players from GA, and then some.
