IIRC, the Mother games are based off of America. In Mother 2, Eagleland is supposed to be America. And Mother 3 has New Pork City, which is a play on New York City. So I don't think it's that strange.

I doubt he would get those costumes. So far there are only really simple costume changes and basic color swaps in Brawl. But that would be pretty cool.
