9 times out of ten there is no reason you shouldn't make it back to the stage when you get sent flying. You have to watch yourself off stage, because hitting side b with no jump when off stage is an instant SD. Barring that possibility sonic has more options than should be aloud for recovery...

Sonic can be an aggressive character, I've seen wait and baits as well as aggressive Sonics do very well, I personally play a very aggressive sonic.
